2023 was one of the best years for video games, with the release of titles like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Baldur’s Gate 3, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, and many more. While most of these were expected to be certified bangers, one game turned out to be a surprise hit. Announced in Xbox Developer_Direct, Tango Gameworks’ Hi-Fi Rush was shadow-dropped for Windows and Xbox Series X/S on January 25, 2023. Following its release, the game garnered an incredibly positive reception from critics, with much of the praise showered on its art style, great cast of characters, and fun gameplay. New players continue to join in on the fun, and a lot of them seem to be curious about whether Hi-Fi Rush supports HDR, ultrawide, super ultrawide, AMD FSR 3, and DLSS.
Hi-Fi Rush was also just recently announced for PS5, with the release scheduled for March 19, 2024. There were also rumors surrounding a Nintendo Switch release, but the latest Partner Direct confirmed that isn’t the case (at least for now). All this seems to have helped in generating some new interest in the game, with many opting to enjoy the game on PCs. So, does the game support HDR, ultrawide, super ultrawide, AMD FSR 3, and DLSS on PC? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.
Hi-Fi Rush game HDR, Ultrawide (21:9), Super Ultrawide (32:9), AMD FSR 3 & DLSS Support Details
Well, unfortunately, we will be starting this with disappointing news. At the time of publishing this, Hi-Fi Rush doesn’t support HDR. Players can try using alternative tools like autoforce_hdr and see if that helps. But natively, Hi-Fi Rush doesn’t support HDR.
As for both ultrawide and super ultrawide, currently, Hi-Fi Rush supports both. However, that’s only limited to gameplay. So, if you want to enjoy Hi-Fi Rush cutscenes in ultrawide too, then you will need to use something like a hex editor. You can find out more about that in this guide.
Now, coming to the topic of AMD FSR 3 and DLSS, the game currently has only DLSS out of these two. There are four upscaling technologies in Hi-Fi Rush: DLSS 2.4, AMD FSR 1.0, XeSS 1.1, and TSR. As you can see, while there’s indeed FSR support, it’s limited to 1.0. If you want FSR 3, then unfortunately, you will need to wait for a long time. AMD’s latest iteration of their upscaling technology is fairly new and only a handful of games currently have it. AMD did publish a list of games that are going to get FSR3 support in the future but sadly, Hi-Fi Rush wasn’t on that list. If the game does get FSR 3 in future updates, we will be sure to let you know all about that.
And that’s all the information we have on this right now. You can also take a quick look here if you want to know whether Hi-Fi Rush has DualSense support. Lastly, for more such content, keep following DigiStatement. Also read: Hi-Fi Rush: How to Transfer Game Pass Save Data to Steam?
