Helldivers 2 How to change & use emotes

In Helldivers 2, players dive into intense battles across space. But while fighting, talking with teammates without words is important too. That’s where emotes come in. They help you show feelings or give signals to your team. Now, you might be wondering how to change and use these emotes in the game. Well, in this guide, we have shared all the details about making teamwork fun and functional in the game using emotes.

Emotes in Helldivers 2 are little gestures or actions your character can do to communicate with teammates without using words. To use them, you must first unlock emotes by earning Medals through mission completion and other in-game achievements. These can then be spent at the Acquisition Center within the Warbond Progression menu to purchase new emotes. Once acquired, you can equip and use your selected emotes during gameplay to convey messages to your squadmates.

Using Emotes

To perform an emote in Helldivers 2, you have different ways depending on your platform. On PlayStation 5, during gameplay, hold down the left D-pad button on your controller. This will trigger your chosen emote, showing an animation or gesture to your squadmates. If you’re playing on PC, simply hold down the B button on your keyboard to activate your selected emote. This lets you communicate with your team using gestures and animations.

Changing Emotes

In Helldivers 2, having a variety of emotes at your disposal can enhance your ability to convey messages and connect with your squadmates. Whether you want to switch up your communication style or simply add some flair to your interactions, changing emotes is easy. Here’s how:

  • Access the Armory: Pause the game and navigate to the Armory section in the game menu.
  • Navigate to Character Settings: Within the Armory, find and select the “Character” option.
  • Locate Emote Settings: Scroll through the available character settings until you find the “Emote” option.
  • Select New Emote: Once in the Emote menu, browse through the list of available emotes. Choose the emote you want to equip by highlighting it and selecting it.
  • Confirm Selection: After choosing your desired emote, exit the menu to save your changes. Your newly selected emote is now ready to use during gameplay, allowing you to express yourself in new ways.

Note

In Helldivers 2, emote changes cannot be made during a mission. To switch emotes, you must navigate to either your ship or an ally’s ship. Additionally, it’s crucial to hold down the designated button for emotes, as a quick press will only result in swapping weapons. While every player has access to the default emote known as the Casual Salute, it’s worth exploring the wide array of other exciting options available. A lot more emotes are waiting for you!

That’s all you need to know about changing emotes in Helldivers 2! We hope this guide helped enhance your gameplay experience.
