Halo Infinite is undoubtedly one of its kind, and we can’t deny the fact that it gives quite an amazing first-person experience. The game is the continuation of the legendary Halo Series and was launched on 15th November 2021.
The game has received positive responses from the players, and the developers, 343 Industries have done a great job in making this. But, this is not all about the game.
Available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, players have encountered a new issue related to the game. According to reports, players are facing issues while trying to launch the game. And the issues are something like error codes 0x80070032, 0x80070424 and 0x80070005.
Affected players get the particular message that reads, “Something unexpected happened. Reporting this problem will help us understand it better. You can wait a bit and try again or restart your device. That may help.” These are the error codes 0x80070032, 0x80070424, and 0x80070005 that prevent the users from launching the game.
Here are certain fixes and workarounds that you can try –
TRY RUNNING OTHER GAMES
This is the first thing that you need to do if you want to check about these error codes 0x80070032, 0x80070424, and 0x80070005. You have to run other games with the Xbox app on your PC and check if they are running properly.
If those games end up with the same error code message or show some other issue, then the problem might be with Xbox’s subscription. If those run fine, move on to the next fix. You can also try running the game through Steam and see if there is the same issue.
UPDATE THE GAMING SERVICES
Having outdated gaming services can be a major reason behind the error codes 0x80070032, 0x80070424, and 0x80070005 not allowing the game to launch. For this, you need to check if there are any pending updates for the Gaming Services on your PC. You can do this through the Microsoft app using the below steps –
- Open the Microsoft Store app.
- On the screen, go to Library and click on it.
- Then search for the gaming services and see if you have any pending updates. If you do, just update those.
- You can also try updating the game services on your Xbox console.
REPAIR THE GAME, GAME SERVICES, AND XBOX APP
This method has fixed the error codes issue for a lot of players, so you can try it. You just need to repair the installed programs like the game and game services through the system’s repair process to fix this issue. The same can be done with the Xbox app as well. To do this, follow the below steps –
- On your system, press Windows and I keys simultaneously to open the Settings.
- In the window, click on Apps present on the left side and then select Apps and Features.
- In there, search for the Xbox app. Once you find it, click on the three dots icon.
- From the options available, click on Advanced options and then select Terminate to close the app.
- In the next step, click on Repair from the options. If you get any prompt, click on Ok and proceed.
You have to do the same for the Halo Infinite game and the gaming services app as well. The steps are the same, you just need to select these instead of the Xbox app.
RESET THE GAME, GAME SERVICES, AND XBOX APP
If you have tried repairing the installed programs and nothing happened, and you still face the launching issue, you can simply try resetting the apps and programs. When you perform a factory reset of the device system or any apps, it fixes several glitches and bugs.
- In the next step, click on Reset from the options. If you get any prompt, click on Ok and proceed.
You have to do the same for the game and the gaming services as well.
DISABLE THE DEVELOPMENT MODE FOR THE APPS
This is the next best thing you can do to solve the issues of the error codes in the game Halo Infinite. You simply need to disable the app development mode on your system. Here are the steps to do this –
- First, ensure that all Xbox and Windows Store apps are properly closed in Task Manager. You can do this by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc.
- Once you’ve done that, click on the Windows Start menu and then type Powershell. This will take you to Windows Powershell.
- Now, right-click on the Windows PowerShell tool and then choose ‘Run as administrator’.
- If prompted by the UAC, you’ve to click on Yes to proceed. Make sure to copy & paste the following command line then hit Enter to use it –
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
- You’ve to let it run completely. If in case the above command line didn’t work, you can use this command line to remove Gaming Services:
get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
- This will fully uninstall Gaming Services and then you’ll be taken to the Microsoft Store page. Make sure to click on the Install or Run button.
CONTACT THE HALO SUPPORT
If none of the above fixes works for you, the final method is to contact Halo Support. For this, you can simply submit a ticket citing the issue you are facing. Since this issue is related to running the game through Xbox Game Pass, it is better if you mention that as well! And then you can wait for any reply.
