in Gaming, News

The last Rockstar game GTA V released in 2013 and developed for over 5 years has still stayed relevant. The franchise has one of the biggest fanbases in the gaming world and now people are in anticipation for the release of GTA 6. With the deep dive of Playstation 5 announced to be today, Rockstar will see to incline their release with the next-gen consoles. We need to learn a bit about the background of Rockstar releases before making a judgement of what’s to come.

According to a playtester who chooses to remain anonymous, GTA 6 development had already started in 2014 but it did not pick up the full pace because of the announced releases of GTA Online, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online. GTA Online was the perfect way to prolong the life of GTA V so that Rockstar Games could work on RDR 2 for a longer period that came out to be five years. RDR 2 is hailed as one of the most realistic games ever and GTA 6 is supposed to be more arcadey not supposed to be more realistic than RDR 2.

Now that other developments are out of the way a release of late 2020 or 2021 release seems likely. GTA V actor, Steven, Aka, Trevor has said that a Grand Theft Auto takes about 7 to 8 years to develop, doing the math our prediction stands tall.

GTA 6 Leak give a lot of information
Redditor, JackOLantern came out with a lot of interesting information and though the credibility of it might be questionable, there are some parallels of the gameplay he provided with the actual development. Firstly, the game’s developer codename is Project Americas. The game will be heavily influenced by the pop-culture shows on drugs mainly Narcos, which is a gritty show on the start of the cocaine drug trade and the infamous Wire.

The Maps and Locations will be a combination inspired by Brazil’s Rio De Janeiro, modern-day Liberty City and quite possibly Mexico City. The gameplay will focus on building your own Drug Empire while the police will try to hunt you down so there will be a lot of mid-play storytelling. The game will be set in 1970-1980s. We can expect a lot of dialogues and new story-telling methods with a crazy plot-twist as said by another Redditor Fireden.

There will be elements inspired in the game by Red Dead Redemption 2 which is super exciting to hear. Now as we arrive at the middle of the year there can be an arrival of a teaser or official announcement. There is also an interesting rumour about an announcement on 25th March about GTA 6 revolving on Reddit. We will keep you updated with the latest piece of hot news.
