GTA 5 Online: How to change brightness on its PS4 & PS5 versions

GTA Online is a game that has been around for almost as long as GTA 5 has and is arguably one of the best in the market. It is set on the same map but has features that differentiate it from the main title, GTA V in addition to being a multiplayer as opposed to the linear single-player format of GTA V. It has all the features of the base game in addition to some additional features such as over 200 custom cars and bikes and other vehicles unique to the online version of the game. In this article, we are going to be taking a look at GTA 5 Online: How to change brightness on its PS4 & PS5 versions.

GTA 5 Online: How to change brightness on its PS4 & PS5 versions

GTA Online is in many ways more graphically impressive than GTA 5 was. It is the version of GTA that is still being updated. The quality of graphics has seen an overhaul in almost every generation of consoles. These graphical improvements also carry over to the PC version of the GTA Online. In the latest update, it saw more graphical changes and improvements. It also saw the addition of new vehicles which are limited to the PS5 and Xbox Series versions.

GTA 5: How to change brightness on its PS4 & PS5 versions?

GTA Online players all agree that with the recent updates and the changes to the terrain shadows, reflections, and light shafts, the game tends to get very dark come nighttime. This has caused most players to increase the in-game brightness significantly. The developers at Rockstar Games changed the lighting and shadows for the GTA 5 for the PS5 and Xbox Series. This increased the contrast at night and made the north and hilly regions of the map darker. This is especially noticeable in the next-generation version of the game. GTA Online does not have a native brightness option and only reflects the brightness settings of GTA V. To change the Brightness of GTA Online, you must change the brightness of GTA V story Mode.

In order to change the brightness settings of the game, the following are the steps;

  1. Exit the multiplayer and head into Story Mode.
  2. In story mode, open the pause menu and go to the Settings tab.
  3. Here, look for the title of Display.
  4. When in Display, you will be able to change the brightness at your convenience.
  5. Once you are satisfied, press the X key to confirm the change and the brightness of the game will change accordingly.
  6. After these steps, you can rejoin GTA Online and the changes will reflect in the multiplayer as well.
