GTA online

GTA 5 released by Rockstar games in 2013 a part of their popular long running franchise of GTA games gave players a whole list of new content to engage in with their 3 main characters Franklin , Trevor and Michael. Apart from the story mode GTA 5 released GTA 5 Online a month after its official release once again providing players a list of content to engage themselves with along side other players , a list of content that is still actively updated by the game developers 8 years later.Grand theft auto 5

The official developers aren’t the only ones creating content for the game , since release, fans of GTA 5 have  created a large variety of mods for the game that can be downloaded by any individual from various sites online.

One such popular mod also used in many other games is a Redux mod which gives the game a complete graphical overhaul.

How to install Redux and Reshade mod?

We will be listing out each step to install the mod.

However before we begin I would highly suggest creating a folder on your desktop where all the files that need to be installed can be stored.

Step 1

  • Visit here
  • click download on “GTA5_REDUX_V1.10.zip”
  • you will be redirected to a new site , scroll down to the bottom and click download on “GTA5_REDUX_V1.10.zip — 1.10”
  • install it to the folder you had created on your desktop
  • While Redux installs , visit this site scroll down and click download Reshade 4.9.1, once again install or after installation put the zip file into the folder on your desktop
  • visit here to click download and add it your folder on your desktop
  • after that go to this site  click download and add it to your folder on your desktop
  • go to this site click download and add it to your folder on your dekstop, however this file is only needed if you want to add any unlimited car mods but if you only want the redux mod then you don’t require this file
  • visit this site click “download now OPEN IV 4.0” button
  • go to this site and install by clicking download on the bottom right table then go to this site and scroll down below “scipthookvdotnetv3.10” and locate “ScriptHookVDotNet.zip“

Ensure that all the files downloaded are added to the folder you created on your desktop before moving ahead

Step 2

  • Redirect to the OpenIV file and install it’s setup
  • begin to extract all the zip files you installed into the same folder
  • Run the OpenIV software
  • select windows under the GTA 5 option , you will be prompted to add your gta 5 folder path
  • click on browse and locate your GTA 5 folder , once located click continue
  • In the OpenIV software window , top right click “Edit Mode” and enable it
  • then click on ASI Manager and install all 3 plugins shown, it will ask to create a mod folder so click “Yes”

Step 3

  • open the “Heap Adjustor” folder and select both files in it , drag and drop them into the “Rage package file” in the OpenIV software window.
  • Open “PackFileLimitAdjuster” select two files “PackfileLimitAdjuster.asi” and “PackfileLimitAdjuster” then drag and drop them into the “Rage Package file”
  • Open ScriptHookV  then click on “Bin” and then select “dinput8.dll” and “ScriptHookV.dll” similarly drag and drop them into the “Rage Package File”
  • Visit this site and click download , unzip the folder into the same folder on your desktop , once done open the file and select “trainerv” and “TrainerV.asi” then drag and drop them into the “Rage Package File”
  • Open the file “ScriptHookVDotNet” and select all files except “License” and “Read me” then drag and drop them into the “Rage Package File”
  • Now redirect to the “GTA5_REDUX_V1.10” file and then drag and drop the file “GTA_5_REDUX_RESHADE” into the “Rage Package File”

Step 4

  • Now in the OpenIV software click on tools in the upper handle bar and select Package Installer
  • In the package installer locate the “GTA5_REDUX_V1.10” OIV file that would be in your GTA 5 redux folder.
  • once found , select the file and click open
  • a popup window should appear , before you click on install you need to backup some files, to do this create a folder called “Backup” within the folder on your desktop
  • In the OpenIV software under “Folder” click on “update” then click on “Common”  then click on “data” and then finally on “ai”
  • in the “ai” folder select “weaponcomponents.meta” and copy paste it onto your backup folder
  • Go back to the “data” file from selecting it on the left hand bar , select “extratitleupdatedata.meta” and “handling.meta” then copy – paste it onto your “Backup” folder
  • If you did choose to install the “gameconfig” file in step 1 then click on gameconfig.xml in the “XML text” subfolder in the OpenIV software and copy-paste it onto your back up folder, if you didn’t install it then move ahead and skip this sub-step.
  • Now go back to the package installer and select GTA 5 redux as we did earlier and click on install at the right hand side of the window, select install to mod folder. This might take some time
