Google Camera is a camera application developed by Google for android phones. Previously, it was available for all android devices but now, just on Google’s Pixel devices. It was publicly released for Android Kitkat 4.4+ devices on Play Store on April 16, 2014. Some of the features of the app are :-
HDR+ – Also knows as High Dynamic Range+, uses computational techniques to capture pictures with higher dynamic range by taking continuous burst shots with short exposures. HDR+ reduces noise, improves colours while avoiding motion blur.
Smartburst – It is a feature that allows the camera to capture upto 10 pictures per second. It is activated by holding down the shutter button. After releasing the shutter button, it automatically highlights the best pictures captured.
Portrait mode – This mode allows the user to capture selfies or portraits with a bokeh effect, it means that the subject will e crystal clear and in focus, and the background is slightly blurred creating a picture identical to the ones captured by a professional DSLR camera.
Google Lens – This feature allows the user to copy text by capturing it, identify plants and animals, identify books, movies and products and search similar ones. It also scans barcodes and QR codes
Night Sight – This feature uses modifed HDR+ to get bright shots in dark by image processing. It takes multiple long exposure shots and reduces the camera shake to get brighter shots.
NOTE – The Google Camera only works on Google Pixel devices.
