Friday Night Funkin’ week 7 update was hinted by ninjamuffin99, its programmer on his official Twitter handle. The 2D flash games has been a favorite of fans of indie games. Here’s what we know about the game:
What is Friday Night Funkin’?
Friday is an indie game that incorporates the basic gameplay system of DDR, but with a different score and art style. We play as “Boyfriend” a young rapper trying to win over his love interest, aptly named “Girlfriend” when he finds himself dueling against her Dad, a former rockstar. The only way to get to him is through the power of music. A pretty simple game in terms of mechanics, the objective is to match the arrow keys with the prompts on the screen.
The game is open source and is updated regularly with new content. Each update is labeled as “Week” in ascending order of update. The game also has varying levels of difficulties the player can choose from. The art style includes various other independent artists on platforms like NewGrounds, a famous website that hosts a plethora of contemporary animators.
Week 7 Update
Friday Night Funkin’ Week 7 is a much-awaited update for the 2D flash game. Each week contains a new duel and new music scores to accompany it.
The programmer behind the game, ninjamuffin99, tweeted on 26th February with a video captioned “Week 7 Trailer“. The video depicts Pico, a character created by the founder of Newgrounds, making out with another character. The trailer did not include any other conclusive hints regarding the update, as fans were left in speculation of the meaning of the video. The tweet garnered a lot of attention, with over 60k views in about 10 hours. Pico has previously been featured on Friday Night Funkin’ with its own dedicated level and music score.
