Epic Games’ Fortnite continues its streak of collaborating with world-famous celebrities and other video games or movie franchises in order to boost its popularity and as a result, its player base. No other game as a service model is quite like Fortnite’s, where the main focus is not actually original content within the context of the game, but new content from other well-known movies, games, or celebrities. Most recently, a bunch of Rick and Morty skins and items were released on Fortnite to mark the premiere of the fifth season of the show. In this article, we will be talking about the prospect of a crossover event happening between Fortnite and Naruto and Boruto. Right, let’s get straight into it, shall we?
Naruto Uzumaki and his son, Boruto Uzumaki have been teased for crossovers with Fortnite for quite a long time. As part of the documents being used in the litigation ongoing between Epic Games and Apple, several leaked characters and celebrities being readied for crossovers with Fortnite have been leaked, as we talked about in this prior article. Take a look at the full slideshow made for an internal presentation at Epic Games here.
On page 59 of the slideshow linked above is the following image:
This appearance in the slideshow all but confirms Epic Games’ plans to have a crossover event between the very cool Naruto Uzumaki, quite possibly as a usable skin for the game. While these plans have not yet come to fruition, there is no reason to believe that they will not, at a later date.
Considering the volume of items that Epic Games aims to release with every single crossover event, it seems very likely that the Naruto crossover event will have at least two or three different skins of, Naruto Uzumaki, and his corresponding emotes as well.
All we can do now is hope that this much-anticipated crossover between Fortnite, Naruto, and Boruto does finally happen later this year or in the first half of 2021.
To add onto all the info we just talked about, sources online have confirmed that Epic Games is working with Shueisha Incorporated, a Japanese publishing company that owns partial rights to the Naruto franchise! A crossover seems extremely likely now.
We hope you enjoyed this coverage of the potential crossover between Naruto and Fortnite. Make sure to check out our articles on SnowRunner 2, the potential Shang-Chi game, and the leaked info about Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles. Cheers!
