Even after so many years, Fortnite still reigns supreme over all other Battle Royale titles. While the BR craze has subsided a lot, it hasn’t died down. This particular error code mainly pops up when players are trying to play Fortnite alongside their friends in a party. Now, why it happens is not something we are privy to, but nonetheless, a fix is needed for it. But is there a fix available? Well, continue reading to find out!
Fortnite “Denial of Reason” Error Code 18: Is there any fix yet
Since there isn’t any official fix for this error code right now, players will have to make do with the following workarounds. But do note that these are just potential workarounds, so they might not work for everyone. However, they are still worth a shot.
Restart –
The main reason we are suggesting you start with a restart of the game is to see whether this error is just a one-off glitch or something more serious. If it’s the former, then a simple restart will fix it; however, in case it’s not a one-off glitch, switch to the next workaround.
Wait for other party members to leave or finish a match –
Well, the most obvious thing to do here is to simply wait for your party members to leave or finish a match. Now, depending on your patience levels, this might not be the most comfortable workaround for you, and if that’s indeed the case, then try the next fix.
Set Party Privacy mode to Public –
If you are ok with playing the game with strangers, then you can quickly get rid of this error code by simply setting your Party Privacy mode to Public from Private. This will let other players join your party, and you will be able to bypass this error. You can also try turning on Crossplay if you haven’t enabled it before.
Invite instead of joining –
You can try inviting players instead of joining their party, and hope that fixes this issue. However, if the error still persists, then check out this next fix.
Join your friends through the Epic Games Friends List –
Now, instead of using Fortnite’s own Friends system, we suggest you use the one featured by Epic Games. This might be able to help you bypass this error, so give it a try. If it doesn’t help, use the next method.
Check server status –
Don’t forget to check the server status of the game when it comes to issues such as this. And since Epic has a pretty detailed and dedicated server status webpage for Fortnite, we suggest you head there and check if the servers are functioning. If they are not, then try again after a while.
