2017’s sequel to the indie strategic tabletop RPG For The King, For The King 2 finally saw its official launch on November 2, 2023. Developed by IronOak Games, the sequel expands upon the first game by including a much bigger campaign along with an increase in party size to about four players. While the game seems to be fun, it would have been better if it spent some more time in the oven. Why? Well, it’s mainly because of the number of bugs and issues it has right now. And this guide in particular will help you with the Unable to play Co-op With Friends issue.
Most of the issue here seems to be around one player getting stuck on the world map and, as a result, being unable to continue to the character selection screen. FTK2 encourages co-op a lot, so having such issues isn’t exactly ideal. So, do we have a fix for this? Well, continue reading to find out!
For the King 2 (II) Unable to play Co-op With Friends Issue: Is there any fix yet
It seems like the official team is indeed aware of this issue, so an official fix will be coming in soon enough. Till then, you can make do with the following workarounds:
Restart –
We recommend restarting the game and then your PC itself if the issue persists. This is more to ensure that this isn’t just a one-time issue. If the issue gets resolved by restarting, then congrats, but if it persists, then it’s time to switch to another workaround.
Switch regions –
You can also try switching regions in the game if you haven’t done so. Furthermore, you should make sure that you have selected No Password and that the game is listed as Public. Now try inviting your friends and see if they are able to accept and join in on the co-op.
Check your internet connection –
Since this is a co-op-related issue, we recommend you thoroughly check your internet connection. Make sure that you are getting enough speed and that there are no major interferences. You can even try restarting your router or even resetting it if the former doesn’t work.
Disable VPN –
For players who are running a VPN, we suggest you disable it first and then launch the game. VPNs tend to slow down your internet speed, which can sometimes result in issues such as these. While they are certainly great for a plethora of reasons, this is also one of their downsides.
Switch to ethernet connection –
If you’ve been using Wi-Fi so far, then what you should do is switch to a wired connection. Why? Because Ethernet offers better speed along with an uninterrupted connection. Now, if even switching to a wired connection doesn’t net you any helpful results, then all that’s left to do is contact support.
