Most games, especially the ones that offer first-person perspective gameplay, include specific settings related to field of view. FOV plays a huge role in such games as it allows players to either increase it to display a wider instance of the in-game world or decrease it to increase their accuracy in aiming. Well, most players prefer to have a wider FOV in-game, and the same is true for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. So, how to change FOV in the game? Is there even an option to do so? More details on the same are shared below.
Since you are reading this guide, it is obvious that you went through all the in-game settings of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on your PC only to conclude that an in-game FOV option is not featured in the game. Well, since it is an RPG with third-person perspective gameplay, FOV isn’t quite important. But for many, the default FOV might be too low to get the best experience. That said, in this guide, we have shared all the details regarding how to change FOV in the game with the help of the famous FFVIIHook mod.

Final Fantasy VII (FFVII) Rebirth Field of View (FOV): How to change it
Do note that you can change the FOV in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth via different methods. You can tweak the game’s .ini file to adjust the FOV values, use the FFVIIHook mod to enable dev console, and then change the FOV or install the dedicated FOV mod for the same. In this guide, we have shared the FFVIIHook mod method that requires you to install a mod for the game and then use it to change the FOV. How? Detailed steps are shared below:
- To begin, you will need to download the FFVIIHook mod. You can do this by simply visiting the NexusMod website and searching for the FFVIIHook mod for the game or you can simply click here to land on the page.
- On the mod page, go to the Files section and then select the Manual Download option under the FFVIIHook Rebirth section.
- Once downloaded, access the .zip file and open it via winrar. Extract all the contents of this mod to a folder. Now, what you need to do is enter the End folder inside the mod folder, then the Binaries folder, then the Win64 folder. Here, you will find the xinput1_3.dll file.
- Simply copy this file and then paste it into the game’s installation directory, which is most likely the following: Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH\End\Binaries\Win64.
- Once pasted, you are all set to increase the FOV. Simply launch the game and then when you are in-game, press the ~ button on your keyboard. This will bring up the developer console in-game. In the dev console, simply type fov “90”, fov “100” or any other preferred value.
- After you hit enter, the in-game FOV will change.
So, this is one way you can change the FOV in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. But as mentioned earlier, there are multiple methods to do the same. You can access the game’s GameUserSettings.ini file in the following directory: “C:\Users\<UserNameFolder>\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\”, then open it with Notepad, and adjust the value of the “r.DefaultFOV=” parameter. However, the easiest way is to install the Field of View Mod available for the game.
