Final Fantasy 14 is a well-received game that has seen a successful run and is still visited by a very respectable number of players. In order to accommodate the number of players that play the game, the developers have installed and maintained multiple servers across the globe. This means that their players across the world can connect and play together. Despite the quality of their servers, there are some errors that plague the Final Fantasy 14 game. One such issue is the error 90001 which shows up when the game is having difficulty communicating with the servers. There are a number of reasons for this error to occur such as outdated network drivers or a problematic connection. Discussed here is the FFXIV error 90001 and how to fix it.
How to fix Error 90001?
There are many ways in which players have been able to fix this issue. Some of the most popular and common fixes to this issue are as follows;
1) Check for Server Issues
The most common problem sometimes is the server itself and not the player’s internet connection. It is recommended that the player checks the server status before trying any of the below fixes. If there is a server issue, wait till the servers are back online to play the game.
2) Restarting the Router
The second most common cause of this error is a faulty internet connection. Players can try restarting their modem/ router to check if the issue solves itself. If not, the solutions below may have more success.
3) Resetting your Router.
If a simple restart does not solve the issue, you can consider resetting the router through the reset port (usually in the back of the router). This will reset the router to its default factory settings. Players have reported this has solved their issue in many instances.
4) Whitelisting the game in the Firewall
Sometimes the firewall of the system blocks the game from sending/ receiving information making it difficult for the game to communicate with the servers. If this is the issue, whitelisting the game in your system firewall may let the game freely communicate with the servers and solve the issue. If you have 3rd party antivirus and firewall installed, it may also be a good idea to uninstall them and check if the issue is solved.
5) Reinstalling/ Reverifying the game files
If none of the above solutions work, you can always uninstall and reinstall the game or reverify the game files to make sure there are no corrupted files or existing errors that are stopping the game from communicating with the servers.
Finally, if none of the solutions above work then we recommend reaching out to the developers or customer support. For more such articles on FFXIV, consider visiting DigiStatement.
