F1 24 Audio not working How to fix it (2)

The new F1 24 game is out now, and chances are, you too have been excited to play. But, like with past F1 games, there are some problems. After all, it is still an EA game, infamous for its poorly optimized gameplay. Now, amongst many issues that are cropping up, one common issue is the audio not working. So, if you too are having trouble with audio not working in F1 24, you are not alone. Keep reading this guide to find out how to fix it.

If you’re playing F1 24 and can’t hear any sound, even though your headphones work fine with other programs on your PC, it can be very frustrating. Good audio is essential in F1 24 for several reasons. It enhances the gaming experience by making the races feel more realistic, helps you react to in-game elements, and can give you a competitive edge by letting you hear important audio cues. Without sound, you miss out on the full immersion and excitement that the game offers. So, how to fix this issue? Continue reading to know more.

F1 24 Audio not working: How to fix it?

F1 24 Audio not working How to fix it

There is no single fix for this issue, but several potential workarounds might help. These solutions are not guaranteed to work for everyone so you may need to try a few different methods to find one that works for you.

Restarts

The first workaround is to restart the game. Sometimes, simply closing and reopening F1 24 can resolve audio issues. If a game restart doesn’t bring the sound back, try restarting your entire system. A full reboot can often fix problems by refreshing your device’s processes and connections.

Check the Audio device

Check your audio device settings and see if the correct one is selected. Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar, open Sound settings, and make sure your headphones or preferred device is chosen under the “Output” section. Adjust the volume and test the device to ensure sound is coming through.

Update Direct X and Audio Drivers

Another workaround is to install the latest DirectX version. Updating DirectX can fix audio issues by ensuring your system has the latest software for handling sound and graphics. Download and install the latest version from the official Microsoft website, then restart your PC and check if the game audio is working. After installing the latest Direct X, try updating your audio driver, as outdated drivers can cause sound issues. To do this, Go to Start, search for “Device Manager”, and open it. Select “Audio Inputs and Outputs”, find your primary output device, right-click it, and choose “Update Driver”.

Check In-game Settings

Although highly unlikely, you should check whether the in-game sound settings are set correctly. For this, access the game’s pause menu, go to Settings, then select the Audio tab and make sure that the in-game volume is greater than 80. After this, save the changes.

Spatial Audio and Sample Rate

Turn off Spatial Sound, as it might cause issues with in-game audio. Go to the Sound Control Panel, right-click your primary output device, select Properties, and turn off Spatial Sound in the Spatial Sound tab. Additionally, set the sound sample rate to 48k Hz or 44k Hz by going to the Advanced tab in the same Properties window and selecting “24-bit, 48000 Hz” or “24-bit, 44100 Hz” under Default Format. Save the changes and check if the game audio works.

Verify Game files

If you’re playing F1 24 via Steam, another workaround worth trying is to verify the game files. To do this, right-click on the game in your Steam library, select “Properties”, go to the “Local Files” tab, and click “Verify Integrity of Game Files”. Wait for the process to finish, after which, launch the game and see if the audio is back.

Reinstall

As a last resort, consider reinstalling the game. Sometimes, corrupted game files or installation issues can cause audio problems. Uninstall F1 24, and remove all of its related files, then reinstall it again most preferably on a different storage drive than before. After this, check whether the issue persists.

With those workarounds, we hope that you were able to fix the audio issues in the game. Now, before you leave, don’t forget to bookmark DigiStatement for more helpful guides like this. Read more: F1 24 Force feedback not working: How to fix it
