F1 23 (F1 2023) VR Shaking Issue Is there any fix yet

So, you decided to play F1 23 on a VR headset. And why wouldn’t you? After all, VR is surely going to take your F1 racing experience to the next level. With a VR headset on, you can actually feel like you are the one behind the wheel. Not just that, the scenic views mixed with the life-like weather effects can make you feel like you are actually in the middle of a race. But that is only if the game has no problems with VR. That has certainly not been the case. Some players are having issues while playing F1 23 on VR. More specifically, complaints of the game being super shaky on VR have cropped up. So, what’s the fix? Is a fix even available? Well, just keep reading for all the details on this matter.

Since you are reading this, chances are you are facing the same problem. Well, with the VR shaking issue, when you make even the slightest movement, the in-game world starts to shake, making it difficult to focus on the gameplay. For some, the issue leaves the game completely unplayable in VR. We have already seen the mediocre implementation of VR in the previous F1 titles, and this new installment too seems to follow in the same footsteps.

F1 23 (F1 2023) VR Shaking Issue: Is there any fix yet

F1 23 (F1 2023) VR Shaking Issue Is there any fix yet

While we cannot pinpoint the exact cause of the shaky camera issue while playing the game in VR, we can safely assume that it is related to the game itself. In other words, the shaking or wobbling issue you’re experiencing in F1 23 VR is a problem specific to the game’s VR implementation. Nevertheless, there are some workarounds you can try. If luck is on your side, one of the methods listed below will resolve the issue for you.

Lower the refresh rate of your VR headset

By far, this method seems to have the most success. With many players vouching for this method, we recommend that you give it a try. So, all you need to do is lower the refresh rate of your VR headset. To do this, head to the settings menu of your VR headset and find the option that allows you to adjust the refresh rate. It might be labeled as “Refresh Rate,” “Frame Rate,” or something similar. Now, reduce the refresh rate setting to a lower value. According to many, lowering it to 72 Hz seems to help with the shaking issue. You may need to experiment with different values to find the one that works best for your setup.

Tweak in-game settings

If lowering the refresh rate for your VR headset did not help, you can try applying the following in-game settings to see if that fixes the shaky VR issue in F1 23.

Graphics Settings

  • Lighting – Medium
  • Post Process – Low
  • Shadows – Medium
  • Particles – Medium
  • Crowd – Medium
  • Mirrors – Low
  • Car and Helmet Reflections – Medium
  • Ground Cover – Medium
  • Trees – Medium
  • Skidmarks – Low
  • Skidmarks Blending – On
  • Ambient Occlusion – Off
  • SSR – Off
  • Asynchronous Compute – Low
  • Texture Streaming – Low
  • NVIDIA Reflex – On + Boost

Video Mode

  • Display Mode – Windowed/Fullscreen
  • Anisotropic Filtering – Off
  • Anti-Aliasing – TAA Only
  • Dynamic Resolution – Off

You may tweak these settings according to your system to get maximum stability. But no matter what you do, make sure that options like Ambient Occlusion, SSR, and Anisotropic Filtering are turned off. Keeping them On or at high settings can lower the FPS and may cause shaky behavior in VR mode. Anyway, we hope this guide was helpful.
