F1 23 (F1 2023) HDR Issue: Is there any fix yet

F1 23 (F1 2023) HDR Issue Is there any fix yet

So, here’s the deal: players on PlayStation 5 who are rocking the F1 23 game with HDR enabled are encountering a rather annoying bug. You see, the game menu itself appears to have taken a liking to the dark side, and that’s definitely not a good thing. While the actual gameplay seems to be running smoothly without any issues, the moment you dive into the menu, things get a little too gloomy. It’s like trying to navigate through a maze of shadows and darkness. Not exactly what you signed up for, right? So, what is the fix for this issue? Considering it is EA that is behind the game, is a fix even available? Keep reading to find out more.

Some folks have tried to tackle this problem by tinkering with the in-game brightness settings. And yes, it does help brighten up those pesky dark areas in the menu. However, the downside is that it ends up oversaturating other parts of the game. It’s like a seesaw of adjustments, where finding the perfect balance seems almost impossible. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time such a bug has reared its head. It made an appearance in the previous installment, F1 22, and it seems to have decided to crank up the annoyance factor in F1 23. Talk about a recurring nightmare! With that said, let’s move on to the potential fixes you can try.

F1 23 (F1 2023) HDR Issue: Is there any fix yet

F1 23 (F1 2023) HDR Issue Is there any fix yet

Folks, you know how it goes with EA, and this is no exception. Yes, you guessed it correctly because, as of writing this article, there is no official fix for this issue yet. An intense discussion is going on in the EA community forums on this HDR issue. Luckily, one of EA’s community managers has assured the players that the issue has been forwarded to the developers. Here’s to hoping the developers take note and shed some light on it soon! Meanwhile, players are stuck discussing fixes amongst themselves. Well, we have picked some of the most popular ones from the forum for you to try. Check them out below.

Use game mode on your TV

The problem with HDR is mostly for players playing on a console using a TV. Well, it is recommended that you enable Game Mode (if available) on your TV. If you cannot find this option, try manually tweaking the values for Saturation, Brightness, and Gamma. This might take some time, but if you feel like things are getting better with a few tweaks, keep at it till you find the sweet spot. While you are at it, keep in mind that the problem is not with your TV but with the game itself. However, tweaking your TV settings can be a temporary solution.

Turn Off HDR

To get rid of the problem, what you can do is turn off HDR in-game and also on your console. Of course, you will have to compromise on those richly detailed visuals, but if you just can’t stand the main menu, turning the HDR option Off is the way to go. However, keep the HDR setting turned On for your TV. It sounds peculiar, but it has been reported to work for some, so why not give it a try?

Official Fix?

There might be some time until we see an official fix. Well, players have complained that the patches dropping out for the game are all addressing issues with online gameplay, and a patch to fix such a mere bug might not be on the cards as of now. So, all that is left to do is hope that the devs at EA will find the matter worthy enough to fix.

Anyway, that is all the information we have on the HDR issue in F1 23. We hope your doubts have been cleared. Meanwhile, for all your gaming-related queries, make sure to visit Digistatement regularly.
