F1 23 is a great racing game that has been garnering very positive reviews since its release. But that does not mean it is immune to bugs and errors. We say this because, unfortunately, the flashback function is not working for some players. As such, they are eager to know if a fix is available. If you too have been looking for fixes, your search is over because in this article we will go over the issue and provide you with some potential workarounds for the same.
Alright, let’s talk about the flashback feature in F1 games. Picture this: You’re racing at breakneck speeds, pushing the limits of your skills, when suddenly you misjudge a turn and end up in a catastrophic crash. Well, fear not, because Flashback is here to save the day! It’s like having your own personal rewind button, allowing you to turn back time and undo those unfortunate mistakes. With a simple press, you can reverse the clock and give yourself another shot at that challenging corner or avoid that disastrous collision. But hey, what happens when this lifesaving feature decides to take a break? Stick around, because we’ve got some tricks up our sleeves to get the Flashback feature back on track in no time!
F1 2023 (F1 23) flashback not working: How to fix it
Folks, we have bad news. As of writing this article, there are no official fixes for this issue yet. Well, in the absence of an official fix, there are some generic workarounds that you may try. These are not guaranteed fixes and might or might not solve the issue for you. Nevertheless, give it a read.
Make sure you are not playing online
In case you forgot, the flashback feature does not work in any online game mode. Think about it: if this were an option in PvP racing, it would completely ruin the competitive nature. What is there to compete with when your mistakes can just be brushed aside without consequences? As such, you will only be able to use the Flashback feature while you are practicing your laps or when you are playing in offline mode. So, if you had been playing online and wondered why the flashback feature was not working, now you know.
Set Flashback to Unlimited
If you have used Flashback multiple times, it might be that the Flashback limit has been reached. Also, the Recovery Mode option in the game should be set to Flashback for it to work. So, to fix these, head to the Simulation Settings menu and make sure that Flashback is selected for the Recovery Mode option. Next, set the Flashback Limit option to Unlimited. Now, start a race and check whether you can use Flashback now.
Remap button
In case the issue persists, you can try remapping the button used for Flashback and see if that fixes the problem. Button remapping is possible in F1 23 and can be accessed from the Settings menu by heading to the Control Scheme section. Here, you will find the Replay/Flashback option. Simply remap the action to a different button and check whether the issue persists.
Other fixes?
While you can try other generic fixes like verifying the game files, reinstalling, and all that, we don’t really recommend them because they have not been reported to work so far. So, until the developers themselves speak on this, you will have to make do with these potential fixes. Keep in mind that the game is fresh off the shelves; therefore, the devs may address all the issues that are cropping up at the moment in a future update or patch. This is, however, just speculation, so take it with a grain of salt. We will update this article with more information on the topic once we fetch them.
