Valorant is a free to play, team based tactical first person shooter by Riot Games, well known for publishing League of Legends. The gameplay of Valorant features similarity to that of the classic Counter Strike gameplay, with the addition of special characters like we’ve seen before in Overwatch.
Like every other major games these days, Riot also decided to add the cherry on top with the inclusion of Battle Pass, and you’re here probably because you heard rumours about it so let’s give you what you came for.
Battle pass or Episode?
You need not worry about it anymore as it has been confirmed via a leak that Riot has decided to go with the name ‘Episode’ instead of the traditional Battle Pass.
The highlighted line of coding confirms the name.
Features of ‘Episode’
In-game each player will have two contract slots which will be available from the start, and five characters to choose from. New players will have one of the slots equipped with an ‘Onboarding Pass’ which the player needs to level up upto 10 tiers to unlock Agent Specific Contracts. Upon progressing through the game players can unlock a character of their choice at tier 5 and tier 10. The other slot will be permanently equipped with Battle Pass which the player need to level up to earn Radianite Points(RP).
Once the Agent Specific Contract is unlocked, players can equip contracts specific to each agent and play to earn EXP for a specific character. The Battle Contract levels up alongside dropping Radianite Points which can be used to buy new agents, new weapon skins, player cards, sprays and other cosmetics. Apart from the Battle Contract, players can also buy RP from the in-game store in exchange for real currency.
Radianite Points can also be used to level up skins to unlock new animations and sound effects ! Check out these cool Reaver skins for the Reaver collection.
The beta of the game which began on April 7, 2020 has ended and the game is set to launch in Summer 2020 featuring the ‘Episode’.
