EA Sports FC 24 is all set to launch on September 29, 2023, for all the major platforms. However, many are already enjoying the game as it’s available in early access. But like other games that offer early access, FC 24 players have also encountered countless bugs and errors in the game. That said, in this guide, we will focus on the “unable to hear commentary” issue that many are encountering in the game.
The issue here is, as the name suggests. For some reason, players are unable to hear in-game commentary during matches. While it’s not an egregious issue, it does make for a not-so-fun experience. Without commentary, the whole immersive experience is no longer immersive at all. So is there a fix for this? Let’s find out!
EA Sports FC 24 Unable to Hear Commentary Issue: Is there any fix yet
For now, you will have to make do with the following workarounds. Try them and hope that at least one of them provides meaningful results.
Restart the game –
Sometimes a simple restart can fix whatever issues you encounter in a particular game. So, first, try restarting the game and see if it helps with the issue. If not, then try doing the same with your console or PC too.
Update the game –
As stated here, some users were able to fix this issue by simply updating the game through Steam. If you’ve got auto-update enabled, then the update would’ve downloaded itself automatically. However, if not, then just go to Steam > Library and then download the update from there. After the update is installed, launch the game and check if the issue still persists. You can do the same if you are playing it via the EA App, or Epic Games Launcher.
Turn off Menu Music –
Another player resolved this issue by turning off the in-game menu music. Specifically, the “Menu Music During Gameplay” option. We know this is a strange workaround, but it works, so make sure to try it. To disable menu music during the game, just open in-game settings and then head to the Audio tab. Next, start scrolling down until you find the “Menu Music During Gameplay” option. If it’s on, switch it to off.
Switch to custom camera mode
Although this seems unrelated, a lot of players were able to fix the no commentary issue in the game by switching to the Custom Camera Mode. If you don’t know how to enable it, pause the game, head to the in-game settings menu, and switch to Custom Camera. Now, make sure to alter the camera height and zoom. After this, check if the commentary issue is fixed.
Verify the integrity of game files –
A major cause behind this issue might be that the game either got missing or corrupted files. Repairing is your only option to solve such types of problems. To do this, open Steam and navigate to the library. From there, find EA Sports FC 24, right-click on it, and select Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files. After the process is complete, restart your PC.
For EA App users, head to My Collection and click on the three dots icon on EA Sports FC 24. Choose the “Repair” option and let the process complete. Epic Games Launcher users need to go to the Library and select the game. Once again, click on three dots and choose Manage > Verify.
Reinstall EA Sports FC 24 –
If nothing else works, then re-installing the game is your best option here. Don’t forget to save your progress before you commit to this method. Once that’s done, just uninstall the game and then promptly start a new download. After installation is complete, start EA Sports FC 24 and see if the commentary comes back.
Players can also try the following fix suggested by a user on the official EA forum:
- Uninstall or delete the game first.
- After that, put the game on download and wait for it to install.
- Next, close EA Sports FC 24 and head to Steam. There, change the game’s language, and a new download will begin.
- When the download is complete, launch the game and then close it once again. This time, change the language to your preferred one. Now, launch it and check if the no commentary issue persists.
