Have you guys been having fun exploring the world of Arrakis? Probably not so much considering how often there seem to be many minor bugs/glitches appearing in-game and causing a lot of frustration to the players. Although random bugs are expected in a newly released MMO game, how often they appear has been surprising. Recently there seems to be an issue where the unstuck button has been disabled for a while in Dune: Awakening, leaving many players stuck in places like between rocks or some mountains. In this guide, we’ve shared how you can get back on your feet if you’re stuck somewhere in Dune: Awakening.
Dune: Awakening is an immersive survival MMO set on the unforgiving planet of Arrakis. Players have to survive through extreme weather and deadly sandworms with limited resources to progress further in the game. While the game offers an engaging and challenging MMO experience, it’s not without flaws—the character stuck issue being one of them, especially since the in-game “Unstuck” function is currently disabled. This problem can severely interrupt gameplay by not allowing your character to move anywhere else. Thankfully, there are a few clever workarounds that can help you safely respawn and get back to exploring.

Dune Awakening: How to Unstuck Character?
Log Out / Log Back In
This is often the most effective and least punishing method. Log out of the game for at least one minute, then log back in. This can often reset your position to a nearby valid location, effectively freeing your character.
Attempt Movement, Jumping, or Crouching
Sometimes, minor clipping can be overcome with persistent effort. Try climbing or jumping your way out of the stuck area. If you’re stuck on a small object, crouching can often allow you to slide over or under it. Players have also reported success by swinging randomly with their knife or other equipped tools, as these actions can sometimes slightly adjust your character’s position and free you from a clip.
Activate Character Abilities/Gear
As one player on Steam discovered, if you have specific gear like the Emperor’s Wings, try to jump and activate them. This action can sometimes propel you out of a stuck position. Experiment with any active abilities or other movement-enhancing gear you might have.
Store or Disassemble Vehicles (If Applicable)
If you get stuck while inside or on a vehicle (like an Ornithopter or Sandbike), store it using the Vehicle Backup Tool or disassemble it using the welding torch. Removing the vehicle can often free your character from the clipping issue.
Use the Respawn Option
If none of the methods work, this could be the last resort with some consequences. While not ideal, the “Respawn” option in your System Menu can teleport you back to a safe location, typically your last set respawn point. Note that using the respawn option when not in a downed state will result in a durability hit on your equipped gear and you will drop the contents of your backpack. Also, it only works if your character is in a state where respawning is allowed (i.e., not in combat or a restricted zone).
Still Stuck?
If you are still stuck after trying the above solutions, please contact Funcom directly through the in-game “Request Help” button found in the System Menu. This additional information will be incredibly helpful to Funcom’s investigation and can aid them in pinpointing and fixing the underlying problematic areas for future patches.
