Developed by Black Salt Games and published by Team17, this game was released on March 30, 2023, for almost every popular video game platform including PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and Windows. Being released on all these platforms, it has been receiving much positive feedback from the players. But unfortunately, some PC players are encountering an issue where the controller or gamepad they want to use is not working in the game. If you are also running into such an issue, then you are at the right place. Carry on reading this guide till the end to learn how to fix this issue.
Dredge Controller/Gamepad Not Working Issue
Dredge comes with full controller support on PC. Being launched on different kinds of video game consoles, it was quite obvious that the game has full controller support on the PC platform as well. But unfortunately, some of the Dredge players are running into the issue where their controller or gamepad is not working. This issue is quite annoying as it can take a lot of your time to fix which could have been invested in actually playing the game. However, the fix for this issue is not as complicated as it seems.
For the majority of players, this issue is occurring when other input devices are plugged into the PC. Input devices like steering wheels, pedals, joysticks, keyboard/mouse, etc. must be disconnected before trying to play the game using a controller. This method has resolved the issue for many players who were facing the problem.
However, if you are still facing the issue, then you can try the following generic fixes as well:
- Disable Steam Input: Disabling the Steam Input can help you get rid of controller-related issues. To disable it, head to Steam, right-click on Dredge from the game Library, select Properties, and then select the Controller tab. Now, under the Override for Dredge option, select the Disable Steam Input option. Save the changes and then launch the game to see if the issue is resolved or not. If the issue is not resolved, repeat the same steps to enable the Steam Input and then launch the game. If the issue persists, then select the “Use Default Settings” option.
- Check Controller’s connectivity: If you are using a wired controller, then make sure that the USB Port and wire are properly functioning. You can replace the wire with another wire to see if it works. However, if you are using a Bluetooth-connected controller, make sure that it is appropriately connected.
- Reconnect the Controller: Reconnecting the controller can also resolve this problem. In the case of the USB Controller, simply unplug and replug the controller. In the case of the Bluetooth Controller, make sure to remove the device from the Paired Devices list and then pair it to the PC.
This brings us to the end of this guide. It was everything about resolving the Controller/Gamepad Not Working Issue in Dredge. If you found this guide helpful, share it with your friends.
