Fans of the OG Dota 2 roster drew attention to the behaviour of players in tournaments in 2020. A thread was created on Reddit to discuss recent comments by Sebastian Ceb Debs and Johann n0tail Sundstein.
“What’s going on with the OG players? I’m not saying that they flew out of the bottom bracket or badly nibbled. Why did they become so arrogant? At first, Ceb said it was offensive to even think that another team could beat them. Then they lost 0: 3 in the match with Team Secret. Then n0tail said that if TI started next week, they would beat everyone and win easily. After that they lost 0: 2 to Alliance. Did the TI win destroy their mentality? What a disappointment.”
In the comments to the post, one of the users noted: “Teams that win at TI don’t stay good forever, just ask NAVI or Alliance fans.” In response, they wrote to him that being a fan of these two groups is now much nicer than OG.
Fans also touched on the topic with the departure of Esse JerAx Vainikki from OG. User iceporter noted that “JerAx is irreplaceable.”
OG won two TIs in a row – The International 2018 and The International 2019. The last tournament in which the Debs team took part was ESL One Germany 2020. In the lower bracket of the playoffs, the team lost to Alliance with a score of 0: 2 and left the competition.
Dota 2 Loda comes to defend OG and Nigma
Alliance CEO Jonathan Loda Berg commented on the defeats of OG and Nigma in the ESL One Germany 2020 Dota 2 playoffs. He said that he does not share fan criticism of these teams. Berg tweeted about this.
Loda Says:
“Reading comments on Reddit about yesterday’s games, I am amazed at how toxic people are to Nigma and OG. Let these teams lose sometimes, I hope you understand that they are in the top 0.1%. They are able to beat 99.99% of the teams.”
OG and Nigma lost in the first round of the lower bracket and ended the championship. They took 7th-8th place and earned $ 12 thousand each.
After OG’s defeat, fans posted a thread on Reddit that criticized the behaviour of the squad’s players. Users stated that the statements of some roster participants did not correspond to the results of the team.
ESL One Germany 2020 for Europe runs online from October 5 to November 1. 16 teams compete for a prize pool of $ 400,000, the winner will receive $ 150,000.
