Did Clash Royale remove 2v2 (2)

Clash Royale, Supercell’s strategic card-based battle game, has long been a fan favorite over the years. However, recently the game has come under fire for the introduction of new pay-to-win elements, causing frustration among many in its player base. Now, to add to the concerns, players are facing issues in the beloved 2v2 mode, with many wondering—did Clash Royale quietly remove it? If you’ve noticed problems with this mode, you’re not alone, and this article will explore what’s happening.

Many like yourself have recently reported widespread issues with Clash Royale’s 2v2 mode, with almost everyone struggling to get into matches. Stuck on the “waiting for opponents” screen for extended periods and, in other cases, not able to start a 2v2 battle at all, the issue seems to have affected both the 2v2 event and classic modes. So, is it true? Has Supercell really removed this mode? Or is there something bigger on the horizon?

Did Clash Royale remove 2v2

Thankfully, despite the concerns, Clash Royale has not officially removed the 2v2 mode. Currently, rumors are circulating that the ongoing issues are tied to an upcoming update, with speculation pointing to a potential new feature. Many believe that these problems are due to preparations for the introduction of a 2v2 ladder, which could explain the matchmaking delays and disruptions players are experiencing right now. Here is what the official tweet had to say about this situation.

Official update

Clash Royale’s team recently addressed the ongoing issues with 2v2 matchmaking, announcing that they will temporarily disable both Classic and Welterweight 2v2 modes to fix the problems. According to their statement, friendlies will still function, but players won’t be able to access the usual 2v2 modes until they return on Tuesday (8th Oct) alongside the October balance maintenance update.

While the developers didn’t explicitly mention the rumored 2v2 ladder in their announcement, this temporary suspension, coupled with the timing of the update, is fueling speculation that the ladder feature is indeed on the way. The sudden issues with 2v2, along with the lack of detailed explanations, make it seem likely that these disruptions are related to preparations for this new ladder system, lending credibility to the rumors.

When will the update drop?

Since the official team hasn’t confirmed the 2v2 ladder yet, it’s unclear whether this new system will launch with the October maintenance. It’s possible that the upcoming update will simply fix the regular 2v2 modes while they continue working on the ladder system, which could drop later, potentially by the end of the month. Fingers crossed, though—hopefully, we’ll see the new ladder alongside the October maintenance on Oct 8th, which is just around the corner! We will keep an eye out for official patch notes or announcements from Supercell early next week for more details so stay tuned for all of that!

And that is all the information we have for now. We hope this was informative and you got all your questions answered. Now before you leave, don’t forget to bookmark DigiStatement for more reads like this.
