  • The initial step to unlocking skins in Diablo 4 is to visit the nearest blacksmith. Proceed to interact with the blacksmith, and a whole new window opens on the screen.
  • The right side of the screen will show you all your belongings, and the left side of the screen will show you the Blacksmith window, which has a total of three tabs, namely Salvage, Repair, and Upgrade Item. Click on the tab named ‘Salvage’.
  • A new menu pops up with a variety of options for Salvaging. Choose the first option with the pickaxe icon, known as Directly in Inventory. Clicking on this will highlight the right side of the screen, where your belongings are.
  • Proceed to click on the armor and weapons you want to salvage and choose the Salvage option (X/A button). Now, a tiny message will pop up: “Transmog is Unlocked. Visit the Wardrobe to view the unlocked item”. This means that you have unlocked new skins for the items you have salvaged.
  • You might even acquire some salvage materials after salvaging those armor and weapons. Make sure to collect them all from the left window and exit the blacksmith screen.
