Diablo 4 Error Code 300029

Facing errors and bugs in a recently released game is a nightmare. Especially if that game is one of the most anticipated releases in a while, you’d expect the developers to ensure a smooth gaming experience. This is exactly what fans expected from Diablo 4. Despite being released by an AAA studio, the game has a bunch of errors, and recently, reports related to the error code 300029 in Diablo 4 have surfaced on the internet. Well, as per the reports, it seems that it is currently restricted to the PS platform only. If you have encountered the issue as well, keep reading this guide for more information on it.

Players on PlayStation consoles are perhaps the ones who are facing the most issues while running Diablo 4. Errors like 1703 or this particular error 300029 are ruining their gaming experience. So what exactly is error code 300029 in Diablo 4? As players have reported, this is the error code they’re getting while trying to access the couch co-op mode. The game seems to run fine in most cases, but as soon as players try to add a second couch co-op player, they receive error code 300029, and the game crashes. However, the problem isn’t limited to this, as Reddit user Turbulent-Bed6974 reported. For them, the game isn’t even launching due to this. So, all these things considered, is there a fix yet for this bug? Let’s find out!

Diablo 4 Error Code 300029: Is there any fix yet?

Error Code 300029 in Diablo 4

Even though this error has been troubling players for quite some time, there is no official fix from the developers. Several players have claimed that this error is the result of server downtime, although there’s no official word on this. Keeping this in mind, we have compiled a list of potential workarounds that you can try that might help fix error code 300029 in Diablo 4.

Check the server status

If, and only if, this error is getting triggered due to a server issue, then checking the server status might help. You can check if the Diablo 4 servers are temporarily down via the official Twitter handle of Diablo. You can also receive the relevant information on Blizzard Support. If there’s an issue with the servers or if there’s server maintenance going on, then you can try launching the game after a while and check if the issue persists.

Couch Co-Op Prerequisites

Since the majority of players are facing this error in the couch co-op mode of the game, the error might be due to a fault in the login process. If you didn’t already know, playing the couch co-op mode in Diablo 4 on PlayStation consoles requires players to have two different PSN accounts signed in to the console, with each of them connected to a separate Battle.net account. More details on this are shared here.

Clear console cache

If your PS5 is infested with too many cache files, it may not perform optimally, causing the 300029 error. To clear the console cache, follow these steps –

  • Turn your PS5 off and press and hold the Power button, until you hear the second beep. Now, connect a USB controller.
  • Next, navigate to the Clear Cache and Rebuild Database option and click on it.
  • From the list of options, click on Clear System Software Cache and select OK.
  • Once the process finishes, launch the game and check if the error persists.

Restart your console

Sometimes, even the most generic fix, like restarting your console, can help you troubleshoot certain errors. Turn your console off, wait a while, and turn it back on. Then, launch Diablo 4 and see if the issue persists.

Note that these are some of the generic fixes that you can try to fix the error code 300029 in Diablo 4. Since there’s no official update as of yet, you can only try these common workarounds and hope that the developers will address this issue soon. If these workarounds don’t work for you, then you may need to wait for the official fix. Until then, stay tuned to DigiStatement for more such guides.
