Destiny 2 is the free-to-play multiplayer-only FPS game which is developed by Bungie. This game was published by Activision until 2019. After that, Bungie took the publishing into its hands only and is currently the game’s publisher. Talking about the platforms, this game is available to play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Coming back to the topic, in this article we are going to discuss everything about the “Artifact Mod not working or showing up”. So, let’s get right into it.
Artifact Mod Disabled by Devs
Lately, a player with an account named Khamoi, reported on Bungie’s Community Forums that he is unable to enable the Thermoclastic Blooming Artifact mod. He also mentioned that “The game shows that I unlock it but immediately shows that I still have a point to use and I didn’t unlock it”.
As a reply to this forum, Bungie Help shared their tweet mentioning that they have disabled the “Thermoclastic Blooming Artifact mod”. Adding to the point, they also mentioned that Telesto Exotic fusion rifle in all Crucible and Gambit activities have also been disabled along with Artifact Mod. This step was obvious as Telesto was pulled out before also for giving an unfair advantage to some players or teams.
The Thermoclastic Blooming Artifact mod creates orbs of power whenever an enemy is defeated via a solar or stasis melee attack, including Telesto’s projectiles (despite Telesto being a ranged void weapon). The combination of these two things gave a totally unfair advantage to some players and teams as they can build their supers rapidly.
Due to an issue, we have disabled the Telesto Exotic fusion rifle in all Crucible and Gambit activities and the Thermoclastic Blooming Artifact mod in all activities.

So, these might be the sole reason behind this step from Bungie. However, they have not disclosed the reason themselves, but the step is surely taken to promote balanced and fair gameplay. If officials come up with any other announcement or update regarding this topic, we will be the first one to report. So, stay tuned.
