Dead by Daylight is a classic fan favorite in the survival genre. Developed and published by Behaviour Interactive, the game came out back in 2016 and is available across multiple gaming platforms. However, a matter of concern has developed recently, where players are being kicked out of the game’s servers due to EAC error code 3. This is an extremely frustrating situation, as players expressed their concerns over not being able to play the game at all. The problem has been reported by several players on different forums, and it is yet to be seen whether the developers will take positive action or not. They suggested players immediately report the problem to the official support page for further assistance. Well, you can try doing so, but before that, check out this list we’ve compiled that includes some workarounds:

Reinstall EAC

EAC, or Easy Anti-Cheat, is a cheat protection system that detects and prevents malicious practices from being used by players in a game. If you’re facing the EAC error code 3 in DBD even when you haven’t used any cheats, you can uninstall and reinstall the program to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Open Steam, and go to your Library.
  • Locate Dead by Daylight from the list of installed games, and right-click on it.
  • From the drop-down menu, select Manage, and then click on Browse Local Files.
  • From the list of files, locate the EasyAntiCheat folder. Now, in case you’re unable to find it, simply type it in the search bar and hit enter.
  • Once you find the folder, click on it to open it. Now, locate the EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe file and click on it.
  • On this newly opened screen, select the Repair option. If the EAC service is encountering issues, repairing it will fix the problem.
  • However, if you don’t see the Repair option, simply click on Uninstall and then click Finish. Then, open the executable file once again and reinstall EAC.

Enable or disable crossplay

Depending on your present crossplay settings, you can try enabling or disabling crossplay to fix this error code in the game. To access the crossplay settings,

  • Launch the game, and from the Home Screen, click on the Options menu.
  • Scroll down until you find notice the Crossplay option under the Online section.
  • If your crossplay is enabled, disable it and then run the game to see if you still get the EAC error code 3. Vice versa, if it’s disabled, enable it and check if it troubleshoots the issue.

Reinstall the game

If these fixes don’t work, try uninstalling and reinstalling Dead by Daylight to see if it fixes the issue. You can try reinstalling the game on a different drive to improve your chances of troubleshooting the error.

Restart the device

If you keep facing this error, turn off your device and restart it to fix the issue. After a fresh restart, launch the game, and check if the issue persists.
