Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Police Bug: How to Fix?

2023 has been a great year for Cyberpunk 2077 fans, as the developers took two significant steps toward expanding the game. Firstly, an expansion named Phantom Liberty was released, which expanded the game’s story and added new features and even a new district. Simultaneously, a major patch update was rolled out, which marked the beginning of Cyberpunk 2077 2.0. In all this, while the fans have been quite excited about trying out the new content, the game has turned out to be somewhat buggy. Players are running into different errors and bugs in Cyberpunk 2077 one too many times. One such bug in the game that has troubled the players is none other than the faulty police system. If you’re facing the police bug in Cyberpunk 2.0, consider reading this article until the end to find out how to fix it.

After the latest patch update for Cyberpunk 2077, the game was supposed to be better. While the developers have done a fantastic job implementing new features and content, some bugs have also crept up that can surely cause a lot of frustration. Well, the police system in Cyberpunk 2077 has reportedly been extremely buggy after the update. While some players are experiencing unusual aggression from the cops without any possible trigger, for some players, the cops seem to be completely inactive. Suffice it to say that this has been ruining the gaming experience for players, and they’re really looking forward to fixing the problem. So, without further ado, let’s dive right into the details.

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Police Bug: How to Fix?

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Police Bug: How to Fix?

Unfortunately, there are no official fixes for the police bug in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0. Of course, players have found different workarounds that have worked out well for them, but they’re hardly an official fix. Anyway, we have listed all the potential workarounds for this bug, and you can try them out yourself. Hopefully, one of these workarounds will turn out to be useful for you as well.

Get yourself scanned in Corpo Plaza

In this unusual fix, several players have reported that you need to visit the Corpo Plaza in Night City and pass through the red scanner to fix the police bug. Reddit user SoloRando reports that using this trick has solved the problem for them. However, the problem is that this is not a permanent fix. Every time you restart the game, the police system will most likely be bugged, and you have to get scanned in Corpo Plaza every time.

Attack a trauma team

Reddit user Jables694 shared that you need to find a trauma team in the game’s open world and attack them. This should fix the police bug, as it will trigger the wanted level, and if you manage to escape and wait until the wanted level resets, this should make the police system function normally from hereafter. To find Trauma teams in the game, explore the various city centers using your vehicle, and eventually, you will run into one.

Reload a previous save

If the previous workarounds didn’t work for you, then you can reload a previous save and then check if the police system works as intended. If not, commit a bunch of crimes and progress the in-game story a bit. After this, check again.

Reinstall the game

Finally, if nothing has worked out, then simply uninstall the game and reinstall it again. Multiple players have reported that reinstalling the game has fixed the problem for them. Try this and see if the issue persists.

Well, so these are all the workarounds you can try to fix the police bug in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 as of now. Hopefully, the developers will take note and fix the issue in a future update. Until then, for more such gaming-related content, keep visiting DigiStatement!
