Change bot difficulty in Counter Strike 2

Valve’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a very familiar name within the gaming fraternity. The success of CS:GO has prompted the developers to build and release a free upgrade for the game, in the form of Counter-Strike 2. Just like CS:GO, CS2 is an FPS title that invites players into a gripping gaming experience filled with intense combat. However, before engaging in combat with real-life players, you need to develop your skills to face them head-on. For this, you need practice, and you can do so by playing against bots. You’ll also need to know how to adjust or change bot difficulty settings in Counter Strike 2 to make these matches more interesting. So, if you are new to the Counter-Strike 2 scene and don’t know how to change bot difficulty in the game, here’s everything you need to know.

If you haven’t tried playing in bot matches yet and don’t plan on doing so in the future either, we do understand your perspective. After all, joining a game against real players will always be more challenging and, thus, more engaging. However, if you’re a new player, then this may not always be the best idea. Ideally, you should always focus on developing your gaming skills first, and playing against bots is just the best way to do it. Of course, you won’t learn anything about the strategies used by human players if you train against bots, but you can still practice your aim, explore the map, and even learn about different in-game mechanics. So, with that being said, let’s now focus on how to change bot difficulty in Counter Strike 2 to make practicing more intense or easy.

How to Change Bot Difficulty in Counter Strike 2?

Change bot difficulty in Counter Strike 2

Bot matches were already available in CS:GO, but players often complained about the bots being too easy, making bot matches very boring. Luckily, Valve has tried to make up for it in CS2, and made changes to bot difficulty across the multiple tiers for bot gameplay. In Counter-Strike 2, you can change the difficulty levels of the bots in two ways: one by adjusting them via the in-game menu, and another by using the console command.

Adjusting bot difficulty before you enter a match

You can adjust the bot difficulty before you enter a bot match in the game. You can initiate a bot match via the main menu in Counter-Strike 2. But, before you enter the match, you will find the Bot Difficulty setting in the top right corner of your screen. You can choose from three difficulty settings: Easy, Medium, and Hard. Choose a setting of your choice and then hit Start. That’s the simplest way to adjust bot settings in the game.

Adjusting bot difficulty in-game (using console commands)

If you’ve already joined a match and feel like adjusting the bot difficulty, you can do so too. Simply press the “~” key on your keyboard while in the game. This will open the console command window. Then, type the “bot_difficulty” command (without the quotes) and put a value between 1-3 to adjust the difficulty. 1 denotes Easy difficulty, while choosing 3 will enable the Hard difficulty.

Well, this is how you can adjust or change bot difficulty in Counter-Strike 2. Hopefully, our guide will be useful for your queries. For more such gaming-related content and guides, don’t forget to stay tuned to DigiStatement! Also read: Counter Strike 2 (CS2): How to Change/Alter HUD?
