Content Warning Join Random Group not working How to fix it

In Content Warning, you will team up with friends to explore spooky places and record scary stuff for SpookTube. Lately, the game has been getting a lot of complaints about different problems, including bugs. One big issue is that the “Join Random Group” feature isn’t working right. This means you can’t easily connect with other players for multiplayer fun. Let’s figure out how you can fix this problem and get back to enjoying spooky adventures together.

Well, you’re experiencing trouble with the “Join Random Group” feature in Content Warning, where attempting to join a group results in being kicked out repeatedly. This issue can be frustrating, especially for new players eager to dive into the multiplayer experience. It’s possible that there may be a glitch or connectivity issue affecting the functionality of the feature. So what is the reason? Is there any fix for it? All details are shared below.

Content Warning Join Random Group not working How to fix it

Although there isn’t a confirmed fix for the “Join Random Group” issue in Content Warning, the developers are aware of the problem and are likely working on a solution as part of their ongoing efforts to improve the game. Well, based on this response, we are sure that the team is indeed trying their best to fix the bugs in the game right now. Anyway, until an official fix is released, here are some workarounds that you can try.

Restart your PC and keep trying to join

Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches or issues. By restarting your PC, as mentioned by this player, you may be able to successfully join a random group after you launch the game. And if a system restart does not fix it for you, another player mentioned that they had success with repeated tries. So, before you move ahead with the other workarounds, restart your PC and try joining numerous times.

Delete temp files

One player suggested a workaround that involves removing all temporary files (%temp%). Surprisingly, this method worked for them. So, to remove temporary files on your PC, press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialogue box, then type “%temp%” (without quotes) and press Enter. This opens the Temp folder. Select all files and folders (Ctrl + A) press Delete or right-click and select “Delete” from the context menu.

Solo quit

Yet another workaround for the “Join Random Group” feature not working issue involves a series of steps. First, open the game and navigate to the “Play with your friends” option. Then, start a game solo and promptly quit. After this, attempt to join either a random session or your friend’s session and see if the issue persists.

Check your internet connection

A stable internet connection is essential for online multiplayer games. So, make sure that your internet connection is strong and that you are not experiencing any disruptions or slowdowns that could affect your ability to connect to random groups. You can try using an Ethernet cable or even switching up connections to check if your network is the culprit.

Verify the server status

Server issues can sometimes prevent players from connecting to random groups. Check the game’s official Discord for any announcements or updates regarding server status. If there are ongoing issues, you will need to wait until they are resolved.

Verify the game files

Sometimes, corrupted or missing game files can cause issues with gameplay features. Use Steam’s verification feature to check for and repair any corrupted files that may be causing this issue. To verify the files, head to your Steam Library, and right-click on the game. Select Properties, and then head to the Installed Files tab. Now, select the Verify Integrity of Game files option and launch the game once the scan is completed.

Reinstall

If all else fails, consider reinstalling the game and then checking if you can join random player groups. A fresh installation can sometimes do wonders in fixing these unusual bugs in-game.

With those workarounds, we hope that you were able to join random groups in Content Warning without any further issues. Anyway, before you leave, don’t forget to bookmark DigiStatement for more daily gaming news and guides! Read more: Content Warning stuck on loading loop: How to fix it?
