According to a Steam user who did the full calculation, most non-legendary fish appear to respawn after a period, but the exact duration seems to vary by location and possibly by fish type. For instance, fish in starting areas like Goldenfork River seem to respawn quite quickly, often within 10-15 minutes or even less. However, in later-game areas, the respawn cycle for most fish can extend to roughly half a game day. This means that if you’ve “fished out” a particular type of fish from a specific location, they won’t immediately reappear. You’ll need to give the area time to replenish its stock.
Location Exhaustion
Cast N Chill features 13 distinct fishing spots, each with its own unique set of fish species. If you’ve cleared out a specific type of fish in one spot, rather than waiting, it might be more efficient to simply move to another location and try your luck there.
Lure Requirements
Not all fish bite on the same lure! If you’re consistently catching only small, common fish, it could be that the rarer species require a specific type of lure you’re not currently using. Try using a different lure type and try again.
