Can you ride a Sniffer in Minecraft

The 1.20 update for Minecraft is filled with a lot of exciting content. As we all know, Minecraft belongs on the list of legendary games in existence. It has a huge fan base that extends all across the world. Now, the members of the fan community are always on the lookout for updates from the developers, Mojang Studios. A ton of quality content is being delivered by the developer with every update. The 1.20 update has something significant. It introduces a new creature called ‘Sniffer’ and a lot of people are trying to ride it.

Mojang Studios has decided to introduce two new creatures into the game. One of them is called the ‘Sniffer’. This creature looks quite friendly and has a unique feature as well. The players are excited about what the developers have come up with in this update. Following the launch of the update, players have witnessed a lot of changes within the game.

There are a lot of questions circulating online in the Minecraft community regarding the new update. The Sniffer belongs to one of the trending topics associated with the 1.20 update of Minecraft. “Is the Sniffer Rideable?” is a question that has peaked a lot of interest from the fans. Well, to be honest, the creature tends to look friendly. The behavior of the sniffer is passive as well. Most of the creatures show off their hostility through their looks. But Sniffer here, the creature looks big yet calm and composed.

Upon approaching it, the big guy just sniffs you and tends to move on. There is nothing violent or unpleasant about the newly introduced creature, making players wonder if they can make it their companion. The Sniffer is not spawned naturally like the other mobs. One has to find a Sniffer egg and make it hatch. From this, it is pretty clear that this creature is indeed different in some terms. It also has the unique ability to sniff out seeds from dirt and moss blocks. It would be nice to make a creature of such nature a companion. Well, if you are reading this guide, we are quite sure you are a person with the same thought. Read along and find out if you can ride the Sniffer or not in Minecraft.

Unfortunately, you cannot have any personal interactions with the Sniffer yet in the game’s Survival mode with cheats disabled. The developer has not implemented this feature for the newly released mob. But there is an alternate method for you to ride the Sniffer in Minecraft. You cannot control the direction of this mob, but you can just sit on the big guy and move along. For this, you need to be in the game’s Creative mode, then turn on cheats as well. After this, set your Field of View to ‘Quake’. Following the previous step, press the ‘T’ button on your keyboard to open the chat. Proceed to type in the following command:

/ride [Player Name] mount @e[type=minecraft:sniffer,limit=1,distance=..10]

Typing in this command will let you get on a Sniffer. To get off of it, Press ‘T’ and type in the following command: /ride [player name] dismount.

Note: Make sure to replace the [player name] part with your actual name in Minecraft.

Well, that’s how you ride a Sniffer with ease in Minecraft. Don’t forget to change your FOV back to default in the settings, though. The 1.20 version update of Minecraft has delivered a ton of quality content for its players. Along with sniffers, even camels are introduced as mobs in-game. A beautiful biome filled with cherry blossom trees is also here to win the hearts of the fans. Don’t forget to check them all out!
