Call of Duty: Warzone Solo Mode – When is it coming ?

by Jahan Patel

Call of Duty: Warzone has finally showed it’s face, and an early testing, playthrough of the new battle royale and it’s plunder mode shows promising results. There are some glitches to be tumbled down but the structure is looking sturdy as Activision hits the bull’s eye. The free-to-play game was released on March 10,2020. The game offers a lot as you dive down into Verdansk where the combat takes place, an extensive world with cool building layouts and nuanced art work.

The Battle Royale consists of upto 150 players in teams of three, as they escape a deadly gas and try to eliminate each other. The game offers mechanics that sets it apart from its competitors like Apex Legends and Fortnite.

Gulag:

In the battle royale, to redeploy you have to either to win a deadly 1V1 fight or hope that your team completes their contract and win enough in-game cash to get you back in the game.

Contracts:

Objective oriented tasks that players get but a single team can only complete one contract at a single time winning rewards like cash and loot.

Buy Stations:

The in-game cash can be used at the Buy stations to get resources for you to complete the game. In Plunder, it can be used to gain an advantage over the other team as you fight to earn the most cash, while eliminating other trios.

After the initial release yesterday, the only criticism the game has got is unavailability of a Solo Mode, while all of it’s competitor have a solo mode. The over-reliant on the team members with the game mechanics revolving around team-play makes it difficult for solo players to achieve anything in the game. Also, the reddit community has seen a fair share of players demanding a solo mode as the queue times of the game are higher stretching to 10-15 minutes as it collects 150 players and forms them into teams of three.

Will there be a solo mode?

Looking at the patterns of all the battle royale games and the reviews stressing a need for solo mode coming out, Activision is definitely not gonna hold back in developing a solo mode catering to the player’s needs. The question will therefore come to when and how it will affect the gameplay? The rumors persist about the next patch update throwing in a solo mode but the developer interviews still lined up and no official statement we cannot put a tag or date on these rumors. We will just have to wait and see.
