If you downloaded the game from Steam, open the Steam App first. In the library section, you will be able to find Call of Duty Warzone 2. Select the game and click the Update option, if available. If you are among the players who use Battle.net, then open the Battle.net app. There, you will be able to find a ‘Games’ tab. Under the Games tab, select the Call of Duty MW II | WZ2.0 option. After this, you will be able to spot an icon that resembles a gear-like structure on the screen. Click on it and select the ‘Check for Updates’ option. After updating, try playing the game and it should work as usual.

Verify Integrity of Game Files

You can validate your game files incase a corrupt or missing file is the root cause of the issue. Follow these steps to validate your Game Files:

On Steam-

  • Open the Steam App.
  • Now, head to the Library tab.
  • Then, right click on the game present in the library section, and select Properties.
  • Navigate to the ‘Local Files’ and then select ‘Verify Game Files for Integrity’.

On Battle.net client

  • Select Call of Duty Warzone 2 present in the Dropdown section of the Battle.net app.
  • There you will be able to see an icon that looks like a gear.
  • Select that option and then select ‘Scan and Repair Game Files’.

Restore Licenses(PS5)

  • Go to your PS5 Settings and head to the Users and Accounts section.
  • After this, head to the ‘Other’ option and then select ‘Restore Licenses’.
  •  Select ‘Restore’ and after a while, launch the game. You will be able to play the game error-free then.
