Blizzard authenticator not working: How to fix it?

Blizzard authenticator not working: How to fix it?

2023 for Blizzard was OK. While Diablo IV launched to a resounding success and positive reception, months later the game tanked hard due to a plethora of gameplay-related issues. Warcraft is Warcraft, so there’s not really much to say about it. Then there’s the mobile game, Warcraft Rumble, but it’s no Genshin Impact. But despite all that, the studio seems to be doing fine. And with Activision Blizzard getting acquired by Microsoft, it will be exciting to see what the studio comes up with next. Fans also still seem to be enjoying Blizzard titles, although some have had issues with the authenticator not working properly. And that’s something we will help you deal with.

Authenticators are the best when it comes to safeguarding your account. However, it can also become a pain to deal with when it stops working. Now Blizzard’s authenticator generally works as intended, save for a few times. We’ve noticed many users complaining about the app crashing or the codes not working properly. So, why not go ahead and see how you can fix this Blizzard authenticator not working issue?

Players can use the following workarounds to get this issue fixed. Try not to skip any unless you have already tried them before.

Enter code manually –

If you are using the mobile authenticator, Blizzard suggests clicking on Enter Code Manually and then selecting Try Resyncing. If the app resyncs, you will be able to use codes once again. However, if the issue continues, you can try other workarounds.

Switch to Battle.net –

The Battle.net Authenticator app is no longer officially supported. And that’s one of the main reasons why you are having so many issues with it. Currently, if you want to use the Blizzard authenticator, you need to download the Battle.net app. So do that, and you will most likely not have any more authenticator problems.

Remove authenticator from your account –

You can also remove the authenticator from your battle.net account if you want to do so. For this one, you need to head to Battle.net and then select Can’t log in? After that, select the Remove My Authenticator option. Now, enter your email or phone number and click on Continue. For the Security Check, choose SMS and select Submit. Now enter the code, and once again click on Submit. Another security check will be there. This time for password. Enter your password and select Submit. This will complete the removal process.

Reset authenticator –

Users can also try rebooting their phones and then see if the issue still persists. If it does, then we suggest uninstalling the authenticator and then installing it again. After the reinstallation is done, check whether you are able to use it as intended.

Contact support –

If nothing else works, the only thing you can do is contact support. So, go ahead and raise a support ticket. Explain your issue thoroughly, and just hope that the support team is able to fix this issue.

That’s all you really need to fix this issue. Additionally, if you want to know how to deal with the Overwatch 2 error code 5001, check out this guide. And for more content like this, keep following DigiStatement. Also read: Overwatch 2 HTTP Response Code 202 Error: Is there any fix yet
