Battle Net authenticator not sending code: How to fix it?

Applications like Steam and Battle Net are quite common among gamers. Well, these applications are mainly used for the distribution of various games. Battle Net offers a bunch of games, including the popular Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4. Although both of these titles are now available on Steam, they debuted on the Battle.net application first. So, many players still use this application to manage and play their favorite games. Well, the application also has two-factor authentication for security purposes that require players to enter and verify their phone numbers using a code. However, recently, many are facing issues with the verification process as the code is not being sent for this authentication. So, if you are encountering the same issue, then read this guide for workarounds to fix it.

Battle.net is a game distribution application developed by Blizzard Entertainment. Well, it pioneered the feature of online game service incorporated directly into the games. Many new and fascinating titles were released on this platform. However, as security is a huge concern in the digital space, the Battle.net authenticator service allows you to secure your account with an extra layer. Once you launch the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enable the Battle.net Authenticator and set up Battle.net Phone Notifications. To enable these, you will have to enter your mobile number and then enter the code that’s sent by the authenticator for the verification to take place. But if the code isn’t received, here are a few workarounds you can try.

Battle Net authenticator not sending code: How to fix it?

The battle.net authenticator is a security measure used to prevent unauthorized access. So, when trying to log in, the application will send a code to your email or via SMS. However, if that doesn’t happen, try these workarounds:

Internet Connection

An unstable internet connection could be a reason for not receiving the code. So, ensure that your internet connection is stable. It is recommended to restart the modem and router to establish a fresh connection.

Restart Battle.net

It is possible that the Battle.net application is the one responsible for the issue. So, close and relaunch the application. Make sure that the app is up-to-date. Try reinstalling if the issue persists.

Check the time and date

Ensure your device’s date and time are in sync with the internet time. If that’s not the case, such issues can occur. To enable Auto Time and Data settings, head over to Windows Settings> Time and Language> Date & Time> Set Time Automatically. Make sure to enable this setting.

Check Phone number

First, ensure that the phone notification is active in Account Settings. Then, double-check the phone number linked to your account. Also, ensure that the number is active to receive messages.

Try using a different number

It is possible that the issue is occurring in the case of a particular number. So, try entering a different number, and then check whether the code is being sent by the authenticator.

Contact Support

If the issue persists, then contact support. The officials could look into the issue and help you with it, provided they respond to your query.
