Released on February 13, 2024, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is the latest title from developer DON’T NOD. Known for developing titles like Vampyr and Life is Strange 1 & 2, their newest title is yet another banger. Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden has been receiving quite positive reviews from both critics and fans, with much of the praise going towards its narrative. However, there are some faults with the game. A major source of annoyance for many players is the game’s FOV and as such, players now want to know if the developers have added a feature to change/adjust it.
A primary complaint about Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden’s FOV (Field of View) is that it’s just too narrow. Players have talked about how the game’s narrow FOV is tiring out their eyes, along with another complaint about the FOV not being suitable for the game’s action combat. Banishers Ghosts of New Eden Change FOV feature: Is it available?
As of now, developer DON’T NOD is yet to add in a FOV slider or a Change FOV feature for Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. This is certainly not something many players want to hear, but it is what it is. While there’s certainly a big demand for adding a feature to change FOV, we aren’t really sure when the developers plan to introduce such a feature to the game.
Now, besides Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden being available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, it’s also on PC. And one of the major benefits of PC gaming is that you can use mods and third-party applications. One player suggested using the Flawless Widescreen program or HxD Hex Editor as an alternative of sorts to get a wider FOV in-game. However, nobody else has confirmed that this works. But if you want, you can always try it out for yourself.
We also took a quick look at the NexusMods page of the game, and sadly, there are no FOV-related mods in there. In fact, there are less than ten mods for the game at NexusMods as of writing this. It is not surprising since Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden happens to be such a new release.
All hope is not lost, though. RoseTheFlower, the same developer who provided the ultrawide & wider fix for Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, has confirmed that they’ve made a trainer for increasing the FOV in the game. Unfortunately, the trainer is still in its testing phase, so it’s yet to be made public. You can also ask the developer to try and test the trainer, or you can simply wait a little bit and let Rose release the trainer when it’s ready.
