Baldur’s Gate 3 is certainly a banger to play, but for many in the community, the game is marred with major errors and bugs. From the High GPU/CPU usage to the Adamantine Forge not working bug, problems keep popping up. And now another one has surfaced recently. Yes, we are talking about the bug that makes players unable to enter Auntie Ethel’s hideout.
Well, as the name suggests, due to this bug, players are unable to enter Auntie Ethel’s hideout. Sometimes it’s due to her dead body blocking the way or the game showing the player a “not reachable” notification. Whatever the cause, this issue needs to be dealt with immediately. So, is there any fix? Let’s find out!
Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3) Unable to Enter Auntie Ethel’s Hideout: Is there any fix yet
Since there’s no official fix for this issue, players will have to make do with the following potential workarounds. Try these out one by one and see which one proves useful.
Turn off the Fireplace and get close to the Black Opening in the back –
One Reddit user was able to deal with this issue by simply turning off the fireplace in the area and then going back to the black opening in the back. Following that, rotate your camera, and then use the jump action. Chances are that doing this will let you enter Auntie Ethel’s hideout. However, if this workaround doesn’t work, then follow the next one.
Turn off the Fireplace, Rotate the Camera, and then separate your group –
Another player did something similar to the first workaround. The only difference was that after rotating the camera, the G key was pressed to make the group separate. Doing so made one member of the group walk through the barrier. Following this, all that remains is to simply switch to this ally and then press the G key once again to regroup the party. Additionally, another alternative is climbing on the fireplace after ungrouping. Then, turn your camera inside and then use Jump. Once you are inside, regroup your party.
Use Misty Step –
The title of the most useful spell in the game goes to none other than Misty Step. This single spell has allowed players to deal with a myriad of problems. The same goes for this issue too. If you already haven’t used it, then do so immediately. Sometimes, Auntie Ethel’s dead body will block the entrance. So, use Misty Step to get past it. In case this doesn’t work, try using Jump.
Use a controller –
Players who have been using a mouse and keyboard to play the game so far should instead switch to a controller. When connected, use the analog stick to move around. In this case, use it to enter the hideout.
Switch to turn-based mode –
In situations like these, the turn-based mode can be quite helpful. What you need to do is gather your party close to the fireplace and then promptly switch to turn-based mode. This can be done by entering Shift + Spacebar on the keyboard. Next, right-click on the fireplace and then select the Climb On action. Complete this workaround by jumping through to the other side with your party.
