ARK Mobile: How to use tranq arrows

ARK Mobile: How to use tranq arrows

Ark Mobile got its official launch back on June 14, 2018, for both Android and iOS. While the core concepts and mechanics of mobile are the same as Evolved, there are also a ton of differences between the two. Unlike its PC counterpart, Ark Mobile doesn’t have much content, ranging from things like DLCs, creatures, gear, and such. However, it’s still a good enough entry point for the series for players who can’t afford a PC or console or just prefer enjoying a quick dino hunting and survival session. Now, while Ark Mobile might not have as much content as Evolved, there’s still a myriad of stuff to do in it. And for many, that can be quite overwhelming. This is where guides such as this one come into play. This one in particular will help you know how to use tranq arrows in Ark Mobile.

A Tranq Arrow or Tranquilizer Arrow, as the name suggests, is an arrow used for rendering the target unconscious. Unlike some other arrows, it isn’t used to damage the target. What it rather does is that, upon a successful hit, it will instantly increase the target’s torpor. Now that you are somewhat familiar with them, let’s go ahead and see how you can use them.

Before you can use tranq arrows, you will need to make one. And for that, your player level needs to be 21. Now, there are two items that are required in order to craft a tranq arrow: Narcotic and Stone Arrow.

Crafting Narcotic

First, get a Mortar and Pastle to craft Narcotic. Once you have one, interact with it and select Narcotic from the Engrams. Don’t forget to click on the Open To Crafting button after selecting Narcotic. If you are unable to find it, scroll down to the 6th line. There, right beside Mortal and Pastle, you will find the Narcotic engram.

Now, to craft one Narcotic, you will require 5x Narcoberry and 1x Spoiled Meat. If you don’t have those, go and find some. If you already have some, interact with your Mortal and Pastle, select the Narcotic engram, and press the Craft button located at the bottom-left corner of your Inventory screen. Once you have crafted enough Narcotics, click on the Take All button and then the Transfer button when the Transfer Narcotic pop-up appears.

Crafting Narcotic Requirements:
  • Narcoberry
  • Spoiled Meat

Crafting Stone Arrows

Stone Arrows engram can be found on the 7th line, right beside the Bow engram. Select it and then click on the Open To Crafting button. To craft one Stone Arrow, you will need 2x Thatch, 1x Flint, and 2x Fiber. When you have enough of them, craft however many Stone Arrows you would like.

Stone Arrows Requirements:
  • 2x Thatch
  • 1x Flint
  • 2x Fiber

Crafting Tranq Arrows and Using Them

To craft a single Tranq Arrow, you must have 1x Stone Arrow and 1x Narcotic. Once you have crafted your preferred number of Tranq Arrows, open your Inventory and select it. Next, press and hold the Tranq Arrow and then drag and drop it onto your Bow or Crossbow in the Hot Bar. Congratulations, you can now use your Tranq Arrows to render dinos and other creatures unconscious in Ark Mobile.

There are certain advantages of using a Tranq Arrow with Crossbow and Bow or Compound Bow. A Tranq Arrow fired from a Crossbow is more effective in terms of damage and torpor compared to one fired from a bow or compound bow. At the same time, the latter two weapons allow you to fire a Tranq Arrow in quick succession.

Well, now you know all about how to use tranq arrows in Ark Mobile. You can also take a quick look here if you want to know how to switch worlds in the game. Lastly, keep following DigiStatement for more such guides. Also read: ARK mobile cloud save error : How to fix it ?
