Bamboo Hunt! Where to find Bamboo & Mysterious Bamboo Island
Dodo Airlines has the sole proprietorship for any incoming and outgoing flights. If you have never taken a flight, Dodo will offer one flight for free but if you are a regular, you will need to purchase the ticket with Nook miles at Nook Stop in Resident Services. It is a gamble of sorts. You buy the ticket and board the flight to get to a mysterious island. That island has a chance to be the Bamboo Island but it can also be other islands. Random islands like the one which spawns tarantulas or butterflies. Rocks that drop money and an island that is full of trash. Our goal would be the Bamboo island but you need to get lucky. This just might take multiple trips and good cut out of your pocket.
Once on the island, you will find treasure hunt X marks on the ground near the bamboos. Digging up those would give you bamboo shoots on this island and then you can grow bamboo on your island.
Another way is by getting the turnips from Daisy Mae who comes there every Sunday, buy a couple of those and you will get mail from her with Bamboo shoots.
Bamboo Wand
All wands have the same purpose in the game. You can use it like any other tool then change your clothes on the go. The hardest part about crafting this wand is getting Star Fragments which you can only get from Celeste at night. Her arrival to the island is very random but you might encounter her at the start of the game. If you do find her, she will ask you to look up at the sky and you can make a wish, getting a star fragment later on the beach.
Use 3x Star fragments and 6x Young Spring Bamboo to get yourself a bamboo wand.
Bamboo Recipes
Young Spring Bamboo, Bamboo shoots, and Bamboo piece are the 3 types of Bamboo you can craft with. You can get Young Spring and Bamboo piece while cutting down full-grown bamboo with an axe. There are a few things you can craft with bamboo like:
- Bamboo Noodle Slide: 7x Young Spring Bamboo, 3x Wood
- Hearth: 2x Bamboo Piece, 5x Iron Nugget, 4x Clay, 5x Hardwood
- Bamboo Wall Decoration: 1x Bamboo Piece
- Bamboo-grove Wall: 7x Young Spring Bamboo, 3x Bamboo Shoot
- Bamboo Wand: 6x Young Spring Bamboo, 3x Star Fragments
