In Animal Crossing: New Horizons you require tools to perform various chores that are fishing, cooking or even digging up fossils to unleash the archaeologist inside you.

You can also create your own tools through DIY crafting. The materials or resources for which are scattered on the island. The recipes of the tools available in the game are:

  • Flimsy axe

Purchase from Timmy- Tree branch x 5
– Stone x 1

  • Flimsy shovel

Talk to Blathers- Hardwood x 5

  • Flimsy net

Finish the first campfire event- Tree branch x 5

  • Flimsy fishing rod

Get at DIY Workshop- Tree branch x 5

  • Flimsy watering can

Purchase from Timmy- Softwood x 5

  • Stone axe

Exchange is Miles- Flimsy axe x 1- Wood x 3

  • Vaulting Pole

Get from Blathers

To get the Tool Ring, collect 800 Nook Miles and head to the Resident Services building. Use the Nook Stop terminal to redeem your Nook Miles & receive the Tool Ring. It allows you quick access to every tool in your inventory and lets you know of its appropriate purpose as well.
