Among Us witnessed a massive boom in its popularity and player base in 2020, due to several famous Twitch streamers and Youtubers playing the game, and before anyone could realize it, Among us was the most popular free multiplayer game in the industry, and it still continues to hold a massive portion of the original player base, with a big factor behind its initial success in 2020 and its continuing popularity today is the way that the developers, InnerSloth, continue to add brand new content and features: in this article, we will be taking a look at the new updates to the game that have been confirmed as coming to the game via a roadmap video, and when they could be coming out. Right, let’s get straight into it.
In the Roadmap for Among Us that was released by InnerSloth, a bunch of new features and content was confirmed to be coming to the game, including the long-awaited hide n’ seek mode, the brand-new map 5, and the achievements system, all of which we have covered in separate articles.
Additionally, six new colours have also been unveiled for addition to the game, and they are: tan, maroon, gray, rose, banana and coral. From the roadmap video, it seems as though all of these colours are pastel inspired, and players online have already begun to call dibs on colours. InnerSloth also hinted at wanting to move away from having colours as the primary method of identifying players, so as to cater to the colourblind base more.
New roles have also been announced in the roadmap, including Sheriff and Scientist, as a response to independent modders developing mods for these roles on their own. This should not come as much of a surprise, seeing as the game is largely based on the party game Mafia, which has other important roles like the Medic, who must guess who has been killed and revive them, and the policeman, who is tasked with finding out who the murderer is.
We hope you are as excited as us to play with all of the new features that have been revealed for Among Us, presumably coming to the game as part of an update that will release in the next few months.
