Altered Alma Steam Deck, Lenovo Legion Go, Asus Rog Ally Support Details (2)

Altered Alma is the upcoming cyberpunk Metroidvania that has not been released yet but has already caught the attention of gamers due to its blend of action, RPG elements, and more. While the game has not yet been released, curiosity is already brewing among players about how it will perform on popular handheld devices like the Steam Deck, Lenovo Legion Go, and Asus ROG Ally. Is it too early to wonder about its handheld compatibility? Well, keep reading to find out everything you need to know!

While the release date for Altered Alma hasn’t been confirmed yet, there’s already a demo available for eager players to try out. After all, just by the aesthetics of the game, the nostalgic pixelated feel of metroidvainia games that most players enjoy on portable platforms hits quite hard. Anyway, the big question now is: have gamers tested this demo on handheld platforms like the Steam Deck, Lenovo Legion Go, and Asus ROG Ally? Are there any reports on its performance or compatibility on these devices? All that and more will be explored in this article so stick around.

Steam Deck

For the Steam Deck, while the game does not currently have an official Deck Verified status, the official Kickstarter page provides some valuable insights. It explicitly mentions that “Altered Alma” is coming to Steam and, by extension, the Steam Deck. Additionally, a statement from 2023 confirms that the developers were focusing on meeting Valve’s standards for the game. They even showcased a Steam Deck version of the demo at Gamescom, which was reported to be incredibly smooth and enjoyable. Considering these factors, we can be confident that the demo is indeed playable on the Steam Deck and that the full release is likely to offer a seamless experience on this platform as well.

Asus Rog Ally and Lenovo Legion Go

As of now, there is no specific information about the game’s compatibility with the Lenovo Legion Go and Asus ROG Ally. However, given the relatively low system requirements for Altered Alma and the fact that it runs on the Steam Deck, we are even more hopeful that the demo will run smoothly on these handhelds. The modest hardware demands suggest that these devices, with their more well-equipped hardware specifications, should be more than capable of handling the demo as well as the full game effectively. And since these devices are more powerful than the Steam Deck, performance is likely going to be even better on these mini PCs. So, for now, we hope that when the full game is released, it will offer official support for all these handheld devices and be fully playable out of the box.

Anyway, that is all the information we have for now on this matter.
