After a long wait of over 3 years, the full release of Age of Darkness Final Stand has finally made its way to the global audience. The journey from the early access version to the full release has been a hell of a ride; however, this is nothing compared to what the players are going to experience. With the full release, a co-op multiplayer mode has been introduced in the game where players can play alongside their friends against hordes of nightmares. However, since this is a new feature, issues are bound to occur. Likewise, the co-op not working issue has been troubling players a lot. So, if you too are encountering the same, this is just the guide you need. Here’s everything you need to know about how to fix the issue for good.
As per various player reports, the co-op system of Age of Darkness Final Stand has not been functioning as it should. Most are getting stuck waiting to connect to host a game, and this wait just doesn’t end. The game gets stuck on this screen, with no error code in sight. Now, all you can do is restart the game and then try again. But there is still a good chance that the same issue will occur. So, without further ado, try the workarounds shared below for a more permanent solution.

Age of Darkness Final Stand Co-Op Not Working Issue: Is there any fix yet
In response to a player report stating the same issue, one of the game developers did share their take on the issue and also suggested a few workarounds. What we have done is include all the effective workarounds for this problem, along with the ones shared by the dev. So, let’s get right into it.
Restart your PC
Before trying any sophisticated workaround, the first thing you need to do is restart your PC. After this, launch the game again to check whether the issue persists. If yes, then try the next workaround.
Internet Connection
Since this is a connection issue, consider checking whether the internet connection in use is stable. If your Wi-Fi connection is slow or not stable, then there is a chance that this is the reason why the issue occurs. So, what you can do is restart the router and then switch connections from wireless to wired. If even that doesn’t work, try switching to a different network and trying again.
Steam Download Region
This is also another workaround shared by one of the game’s developers. You will need to make sure that the players you are trying to play co-op with have the same download region set in Steam as you. To do this, follow these steps:
- First, open Steam.
- Then, select the Steam option on the top-left corner of the screen. After this, select Settings and then choose the Downloads tab.
- Here, under the Download Region section, select a region that your friend has selected or ask them to select the same.
- Once done, launch the game and check whether the issue persists.
This workaround has fixed the issue for the majority of players encountering multiplayer-related problems in the game. So, make sure to try it out.
Region Restrictions
One of the game’s developers asked a player who was encountering the same issue whether their friends were in the same region when trying to connect to a multiplayer lobby. So, from this, it seems that you need to be in the same region as your friends to be able to join a multiplayer session.
Verify game Files
Another dev-suggested workaround is to verify the integrity of game files. This can be done via Steam. To do this, open Steam, go to Library, and then right-click on the game. Next, select Properties, and then the Installed Files tab. Here, select the Verify Integrity of Game Files option. After the scan is complete, launch the game. There is a good chance that the issue will be fixed after you try this workaround. Well, verifying game files fixed the issue for this player, so it might be effective in your case as well.
Command Prompt
There are a few network-related commands that you can run via the command prompt window to refresh your connection. If the issue is indeed related to your internet connection, then running these commands should fix the issue. To execute them, first open cmd. Press the Windows button on your keyboard and search for the term “cmd”. When the Command Prompt result is displayed, right-click on it, and then select Run as Administrator. After this, copy the following commands one by one and then press enter:
- ipconfig /flushdns
- ipconfig /release
- ipconfig /renew
- netsh winsock reset
- netsh ip reset
After all the commands are executed, close the cmd window. Now, restart your PC and then launch the game to check whether the issue persists.
Reinstall
Well, if none of the workarounds have been of any help, consider reinstalling the game, as this is the only workaround we can recommend. While reinstalling the game, consider doing so on a different drive, preferably an SSD for faster load times.
For now, these are the only effective workarounds that we know of that have the highest chance of fixing this issue for good. So, make sure to not skip any and try each of them.
