AEW Fight Forever D3D Fatal Error How to fix it

Another day, another issue in yet another game. As you might know, AEW Fight Forever was released recently on June 29, 2023. Gameplay-wise, no one seems to have any problems. In fact, it is already garnering positive reviews on Steam. But that is one side of the coin because there are reports of players running into all kinds of errors. And in this article, we will be focusing on the D3D Fatal Error that many AEW Fight Forever players have reported encountering.

Now, talking about Fatal Errors, they are not unique to this game. In fact, this is one of the more common errors in video games. We know that this error can be quite frustrating because, apart from keeping you from playing the game, it shows up without much information about what went wrong. It’s like trying to solve a mystery without any clues. As a result, you are left wondering about the causes and possible solutions. However, if you are reading this guide, your search has ended.

AEW Fight Forever D3D Fatal Error How to fix it

As of now, there is no official fix for this error yet. But that is not the end. We do have some potential fixes suggested by the administrators of the Steam Discussion Group for the game. So, in the absence of an official fix, these are your best bets in trying to solve the D3D Fatal Error in AEW Fight Forever. Just keep in mind that these are potential fixes, and as such, they are not guaranteed to work for everyone.

Disable MSI Afterburner:

The same workaround was recommended by the administrator to fix another issue in AEW Fight Forever. So, it is quite clear that there is something wrong between the MSI Afterburner app and the game. Therefore, if you are using this application, uninstall it and then start the game to see if that fixes the issue.

Restart your PC and try again after some time:

We know it is simple, yet it can be incredibly effective. This is evident from the comments of one user, who mentioned that restarting their PC helped resolve the crashing issue. It’s worth giving this a try if you haven’t already. Before you restart your PC and start the game, quickly check the AEW Games official Twitter page for any server-related news. If the game servers are down, then you need to wait until they are back online to access the game’s online features.

Make sure the game is running on your Dedicated GPU:

If you are using a gaming laptop, the issue might occur if the game is using your system’s iGPU instead of the dedicated one. So, to fix this, head to the Windows Settings menu and search for Graphics Settings. Now, under the Graphics Performance Preference section, click on the Browse button and head to the game’s installation folder. After this, find the game’s .exe file and add it. Now, press the Options button in the settings menu, and make sure to choose the High-Performance option. Click on Save, and then launch the game.

Send a bug report:

Finally, the group administrator recommended sending a bug report by heading to this link. While reporting the issue, try to include as many details as possible about the crash and attach the dxdiag file. If you do not know how to generate the dxdiag file, press the Windows key + R key, type “dxdiag,” and hit Enter. Click “Save all information” and attach the generated file to the bug report. This will help the developers identify and address the problem.

And that is all the information we have on this matter. We will be updating this article with more details in the future once we fetch them. Be sure to check Digistatement regularly so as to not miss those updates. Read more: AEW Fight Forever Error Code 0xc00005: How to fix it
