The “Trouble Fetching Information” error in League of Legends (LoL) is a very common error faced by many players. It is an annoying issue that can ruin the experience of playing League of Legends. Therefore, knowing a fix or workaround for the issue is very important to playing the game without a hassle. Players commonly report this issue when queuing up for a match. The error message pop-up says, “trouble fetching information for (player name). Affected players should quit and log back in if this persists. (5C)”.

How to fix the trouble fetching information error in League of Legends (LoL):

Reset your WiFi router

The first step to fixing this particular error is to reset your router. This is because the trouble fetching information error is mainly a result of network issues. Therefore, resetting your router as well as reconnecting to your network can fix the error.

Connect to your hotspot

A workaround to fix the error is to use your hotspot. Likewise, simply connect to your hotspot for the initial connection to the client-server. After a successful connection, you can reconnect to your Wi-Fi. This can also fix the error.

Log in using a different Riot ID

Another fix to the error is to log in to League of Legends using an alternate Riot ID. Then, after a successful log-in, you can re-login using your main Riot ID.

Use the Riot/Hextech Repair tool

Finally, you can also use the official Riot/Hextech Repair tool available here. This tool can help you troubleshoot the error as well as figure out your network issues. Additionally, the tool lets you submit a log of your errors. This allows you to get official support from Riot on your issue.
