Hacking in games is quite prevalent, and it isn’t limited to hacking within a game, as in using third-party software to gain an advantage over other players in combat. The developers of New World, an MMORPG game which was released for PC through Steam on September 28. 2021, have published a short guide on what steps to take in case you find your account hacked. We will provide these steps to you as well so you don’t feel confused if you ever find yourself in such a situation, where you’re unable to access your account.
It should be stated that your New World account is linked to your Steam account, hence, the only way someone would be able to hack into your New World account, if, they will be able to gain access to your Steam account using various malicious methods.

- Reset your Steam Password
- If you still have access to your account but so does someone else then you can change your password by clicking on “Steam” at the top right corner of the window
- Clicking on “Settings”
- Select the “Account” tab and clicking on “Change password”
- If you’ve lost complete access to your account then first change your password for the email your steam account is connected to
- Then attempt to recover/change the password through “forgot password”
- If you’re able to gain access back into your account then ensure that no other email ids are added to your steam account.
- Check New World account to ensure you have all your items and no suspicious activity has taken place
