NBA 2K22 is the widely popular basketball game franchise that has been released annually since 1999, the games were originally released by SEGA but are now released by 2K, who also publish games like WWE, another extremely popular wrestling franchise that has been running for a long time and released annually. The previous NBA 2K21 was released on September 4, 2020, and the next in the franchise, 2k22 has been set for release on September 10, 2021, for various major platforms such as PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch. This has many players wondering what the download size will be since the game doesn’t seem to change much every year but the file size seems to grow exponentially. We will tell you what we know about the game file size, how many GB is it on platforms, from various assumptions and leaks that we have come across.
NBA 2K21 had a downloaded file size on the newer generation of PlayStation of 114GB according to users on Reddit, Xbox and PC weren’t forgiven either both having file sizes of 121 and 103 GB respectively.
These game file sizes are lower on the previous generation consoles, however, with 2k22 being released with the newer generation consoles in mind, the total downloadable file size for the various platforms shouldn’t surprise you.
NBA 2K22: How many GB?
NBA 2K22 is being released on Playstation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch, according to a Twitter user “Playstation game size” they state that NBA 2K22 will have a download size of 93.02 GB for the PlayStation 5 upon release, this is not including the first-day patch

Quite less than what most would expect but it should be stated that this is before the day one patch, once the patch notes come out, the game file size will rocket upwards.
For the newer generation of Xbox, though there has been no direct leak or information stated regarding this platform, we will update this article when we will fetch the information regarding the game size on Xbox Series X, S & One.
Similar to the PC version of NBA 2K22, we have no information regarding it, even on sites such as Steam or Epic Games which would usually state rough minimum storage required, they currently have “TBD” or to be decided mentioned in the details of the game, however, based on the previous year release, we can expect the game to have a minimum download size of 100 GB after the day one patch.
Nintendo Switch like the previous generation consoles of Xbox and PlayStation has a lower download file size, NBA 2K21 was 40GB and though there is no information, we can expect the file size to be somewhat in the 40 to 50 GB range after day one patch for NBA 2K22.
