The PlayStation 5 has been a popular affair in many households. Whenever you plug in your USB charging cable into your controller, is the light showing up? This might mean your DualShock 5 is not charging. It can be due to worn-out cables, dusty USB ports, or hardware failure. The PS5 controller is not working as the inputs aren’t being accepted, so you need to shut down your console completely but not in rest mode. But how can you fix the PS5 not charging? Here are some possible methods for fixes

Check PlayStation 5 DualSense Controller Charging Cable

PS5 controller not charging may be due to your faulty charging USB cable. As the PS5 controller has an internal battery, so you are totally dependent on the charging cable. Henceforth, you can try charging another DualShock 5 controller from the same USB charging cable. If that controller does not charge, this means you got a problem with the cable. Getting a new cable can ensure providing the battery with the charging energy. This is one way of fixing the charging issue.

Update Your PlayStation 5 Firmware

Often, the PS5 controller not getting charged might occur due to a bug in the system operation system (OS). Sony tends to role frequent updates to counter these system bugs. For this, arrange a spare controller, and go to PlayStation Settings. From the System settings, search for the latest updates. Download the latest software update and try reconnecting your controller with the system. If this does not work, then try the following method.

Reset Your PlayStation 5 Controller

The malfunction of the controller can often cause a charging error. Resetting the controller has been helpful for a lot of gamers. Make sure you have disconnected the controller from the console or perhaps the charging port. Now check for a small hole under the L2 button at the back of the controller. This hole has got the reset button. Use a needle or toothpick to press the hole located inside the reset hole. Upon inserting it inside the reset hole, press and hold for a few seconds before releasing. This would reset your PS5 controller. Restart the controller and connect it with the PS5 system.
