There has finally been some news breaking out about the much-awaited Dragon’s Dogma 2. This is technically now official announcements straight from Capcom, so we will help you interpret this news as well. With that out of the way, let’s get right into it.
The leaker of this info is the well known Capcom leaker, AestheticGamer aka DuskGolem. He has revealed on Twitter than Dragon’s Dogma is definitely still in development, and will use the RE engine which has become synonymous with Capcom’s games. To quote AestheticGamer aka DuskGolem, “It’s pretty safe to assume most Capcom games that aren’t ports, remasters, or very specifically using an engine for one reason or another will be using RE Engine. Dragon’s Dogma 2 100% are using the RE Engine, but that’s not a surprising thing I’d say.” This was the tweet that AestheticGamer aka DuskGolem made in response to a fan asking about Dragon’s Dogma 2’s development stage. AestheticGamer aka DuskGolem has a pretty clean track record among dev leakers, but as ever, this rumour should be taken with a grain of salt.
We hope you are as excited as we are with this news. Capcom is not exactly well known for letting their fans get regular and hearty updates regarding their upcoming projects, but AestheticGamer aka DuskGolem is doing a pretty solid job of keeping us in the loop. Dragon’s Dogma 2 will undoubtedly be an exciting new release to the next-generation consoles and makes getting your hands on a PS5 or XSX even more important. The game has an expected release date sometime in 2022, so we still have a fair bit of waiting around to do before the game is out. It is nice and assuring to know that Capcom is sticking to their roots by using the RE engine for Dragon’s Dogma 2, and all we can do now is hope the game doesn’t sink into the obscure categorization that Village has.
